Starting this thread a little earlier than usual because with no AFL being played in South Australia this weekend and only 3 AFL games in total, it’s the perfect chance to head down to a local game! It's ‘rivalry round’ too and there are a few great match-ups.
Norwood v Sturt at the Parade tomorrow night promises to be a beauty. Sturt are currently sitting second and Norwood are 4th but we've won 4 on the trot and are the form team of the competition. It should be a terrific game and everyone should head down. I'd like to think we could get a crowd of 5k and I trust some people on here will be a part of that figure. Both teams play a very attractive style of football so it should be a free flowing, high scoring affair with Norwood coming away with the points of course!
And on Saturday night it’s the 2006 Grand Final rematch with Central taking on the Eagles down at Elizabeth. And the two others games are also well worth watching.
Round 12 Fixture:
Friday 22nd June
Norwood v Sturt, Coopers Stadium (n)
Saturday 23rd June
Port v Glenelg, Alberton Oval (ABC TV)
Central v Eagles, Hamra Homes Oval
Sunday 24th June
South v North, Hickinbotham Oval
Bye – West
As far as the Crows listed players go:
• Tomorrow night should mark the return of John Meesen to league level with Norwood, and Darren Pfeiffer is another likely inclusion after recovering from glandular fever. Bryce Campbell will also be in action with the hope of continuing the strong form he displayed two weeks ago.
• At Alberton, which is the ABC televised match, James Sellar, John Hinge and Richard Douglas will all be playing for Glenelg, while Ivan Maric will once again be sharing ruck duties for Port.
• Bernie Vince is the only player in action on Saturday night.
• On Sunday all of our 2006 rookies could be in action. Rhys Archard will be lining up in the midfield for South, and after a BOG performance in the reserves James Turner is a chance to be recalled. Meanwhile North defender Greg Gallman should start at fullback and Andrew McIntyre is expected to return from his ankle/leg injury. It is unclear whether Nick Gill will return.

Forgotten about the 50 point hiding we gave you earlier in the year? Chambers barely got a kick that day, and Lower won’t let him get a kick again tomorrow night.
