Round 13
Saturday 19 June 2010
Central v North @ Hamra Homes Oval (Elizabeth)
Jack Gunston will look to build on last week's solid performance, he is named on the interchange once again for the Dogs. Will he play forward, back or maybe even on the wing? Brian Donnelly will be asking for the long studs once again. He will have heavy dew to contend with once again. There is talk that Centrals will be retiring his #30 guernsey at season's end, as no other footballer will be worthy enough to wear it. Matt Wright once again is named in the Forward Pocket for the Roosters. I, like a few others, would love to see him get more quality time at some centre bounces and stoppages through the midfield.
Non-Crow to keep an eye on: Damian Cunningham #49 (North)
Port v Norwood @ Alberton Oval (ABC-TV)
No Crows in action.
Non-Crow to keep an eye on: Daniel Gorringe #47 (Norwood)
West v Eagles @ City Mazda Stadium (Richmond)
Chris Schmidt has been named in the Centre for the Blood N' Tars. There is no doubt he will spend the majority of his time through the midfield but should push back into defence when the Eagles are slow to go forward. Jarrhan Jacky is starting to string a few league games together, he is named to start in the Back Pocket. Maybe he can demonstrate some promising defensive running as a feather to his cap. Bernie Vince is a victim of the AFL split round, but the Crows won't mind him getting another game of match fitness under his belt. Starting on the wing, look for him to get 20-30 touches, with the Bloods Steve Morris or Ryan Anderson hanging off him.
Non-Crow to keep an eye on: Matthew Goldworthy #29 (Eagles)
Sunday 20 June 2010
Glenelg v Sturt @ Gliderol Stadium (Glenelg)
The smooth-moving, sweet left foot of Sam Shaw will be positioned in defence for the Tigers. If he stays on Ryan "Fish" Herring, as listed on the team sheets, he will need to defend some long leads for most part of the day. James Sellar is named on the bench and will no doubt have a sleepless Saturday night knowing the Riggy's critical eye will be evaluating his performance. Jimmy should spend time spelling Cranston in the ruck and will look to go forward and kick a few, as he has in the past few weeks. Matthew Jaensch seems to have found his niche in Craigy's doghouse as he developing into more of weapon for the Double Blues as the weeks pass. He is scheduled to start on a half forward flank but look for him to rebound and bring the ball into 50 often. Aidan Riley has been named on the extended bench and could drop out again as he did last week. Sturt are starting to get some quality players back (even Jace Bode is still playing Reserves) so its a fair effort to get named in the 23. If he plays Reserves, look for him to get 20-25 touches and play a lot through the midfield and at stoppages.
Non-Crow to keep an eye on: Ruory Kirkby #26 (Glenelg)
