Round 8 2009:
Friday 15th May
Norwood v Glenelg – Norwood
• Young defender Will Young will line-up in defence for Norwood and will look to build on a very impressive start to his league career. With no word yet on the Norwood side, it is unknown whether Aaron Kite will make his first league appearance of the season. Given the Redlegs loss of a key defender last weekend, it is expected he will play. For Glenelg James Sellar is named on the bench and will play, remains to be seen how well though. Brian Donnelly will once again play in the seconds where he has been playing some impressive footy, Jimmy could learn a thing or two from the Irishman.
Saturday 16th May
Sturt v South – Unley (ABC TV)
• Rookie Brodie Martin is named on the wing for Sturt and for South Shaun McKernan will most likely start on the bench and relieve in the ruck and Myke Cook will the spend the majority of his time in the midfield.
West v Eagles – Richmond
• Rookie Chris Schmidt is named in the back pocket for West Adelaide. For the Eagles Robert “the clock is ticking” Shirley is named in the midfield and Jarrhan Jacky is named on an extended bench but should play.
Central v Port – Elizabeth
• Jonathon Griffin is named in the ruck for Central while rookie Ricky Henderson is still named in the reserves. Hendo will most likely win his first Charlie (yes, first) before he makes his SANFL league debut. There is no word on Port’s side yet but Ivan Maric will most likely play instead of travelling with the Crows.
Bye – North
Be sure to head down to the Parade tomorrow night to catch what should be a good game of footy.
Hopefully we get to see Young v Sellar at some stage.
