They do say mckernan is having a good preseason as well........he's going to feel like the one that got away if you're right - pretty sure I got as far as typing his name in a post before switching. I'm still happy that my guys will get game time albeit with Nyuon later in the season, but maybe Philips will get more.....its hard to judge this early which I guess is why any of them were still available this late on.

I've ended up with that many ruck hopefuls a couple have got to be a hit - law of averages!

Given that we've just about wrapped up the National Draft it's time to start looking ahead. I am tipping the that draft will be finished by the end of the weekend. How long do we want to give it before we get to the PSD / Rookie drafts?

I think we should try and pencil in the PSD and Rookie Draft (to follow right after) for Monday 18th January 2016. This would give us a week long trade period before we would need to lodge lists for the PSD / Rookie drafts.

Basically the PSD and Rookie drafts and the initial waiver wire will be done in the order of those were unluckiest in the draft orders.

Add the numbers you were in both drafts, the coach with the highest number will be first, all the way down to the coach with the lowest number who will be last.

So for me I was 5th in both drafts, so I had 10, if you were 8th in both drafts you will have 16 and will pick before me. Whereas cursingfijiian was like 1st and 3rd so he will likely be last in this new order.
 
Just did the order then.

Majortinkle, Feisty and St Kilda Death also had the same total, in which case it was ordered by who had the worse pick in the initial draft.

1. 12Chilll
2. King Lonie
3. majortinkle
4. Feisty
5. St Kilda Death
6. saintbatty
7. Phoenix_9
8. Left_billings
9. SincMagic
10. Armoooo
11. PetWussy
12. CursingFijian
 
Rookie draft wont be snake order, I think the teams at the top of that list have been disadvantaged and having better PSD / Rookie and waiver wire selections still probably doesn't make up for it.

Also, was really pumped to see how the inaugural Gippsland Gunslingers' senior list has turned out.

Didn't realise it during the draft but I have really taken the farming strategy in terms of key forwards. I have about 12 of them, I'm hoping some like Weideman, Freeman and Stewart will go up in value and then I can look at strengthening my backline.

10 picks ago i picked walker over him, and since then i have thought of him as close to the best available, but ignored him as i was already heavy at HB.

I would be very keen to trade in a KF during this next week if you're interested? It might be good if we all post a blurb about what types of players we need and what types we are willing to trade..
 
I'm guessing the Essendon decision may just have made the PSD a reality for some of our teams - how are we going to handle teams with players impacted - I didn't think I was one but forgot about Crameri........

Phoenix_9 loses pick 11 and redistribution pick round 2
12Chill loses pick 29 and 34
King Lonie loses pick 31 and 33
majortinkle loses pick 32

EDIT: by pick I mean that teams pick 3 etc.

Only 3 teams not affected - felsty, sincmagic and cursing Fijian - maybe they should decide what if anything we do about it in terms of compensation.

Obviously not an unknown situation but I know it didn't cross my mind during the draft so maybe extra places on the roster should open up for a season?

Another question is if Essendon do get top-up players from the state leagues, how do we go about drafting them? Free agents? Who gets first access? Chances are a couple of them will be very prominent SC scorers

Delist some players and pick them up in the PSD or wait for the season to start and use the waiver wire free agents system.

Happy to open this one up for conversation.

Do we simply add them all to the free agents pool? (option a)

Or do we have a separate once off waiver wire which is done in the order that players were picked (option b). So going by the list posted earlier the order would be:

1. PetWussy (3rd round pick)
2. Armoooo (4th round pick)
3. Saintbatty (6th Round Pick)
4. Left_Billings (8th Round Pick)
5. Phoenox_9 (11th Round Pick)
6. Left_Billings (Redist Pick)
7. Phoenix_9 *Redist Pick)
8. 12Chill (29th Round Pick)
9. King Lonie (31st Round Pick)
10. Majortinkle (32nd Round Pick)
11. King Lone (33rd Round Pick)
12. 12Chill (34th Round Pick)
13. St Kilda Death (35th Round Pick)

If we go option a I think it's fair enough that the players would hold a spot on your list if you choose to keep them, but you can promote a rookie for them.

If we go option b you would get to hold onto them outside of a list spot, and bring in replacement player only. But then you can't upgrade a rookie for them...
