Re: Round 4 trades

Jesus, a lot of Rioli trades this week.

I thought I was the only one lookin' at him.

:p

Re: Round 4 trades

I have Roo, already have brown and Rok and cant afford chappy.

Looking at Pav, Goodes or Harvey.
Would it be silly to wait an extra week?
Pav has saints at the dome(very tough!)
Harvey has the swans(typicaly tough)
Goodes has nth (could he destroy them like roo did a couple of weeks ago?)

Very tough call!!

Re: Round 4 trades

Thinking of ditching either Hunt or Ladson for Malcheski as I don't want to miss the boat and nearly everyone else has him. I'm another one who is spewing that I don't have Malcheski as I had him in and out of my team all pre season too.

I figure That with Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waters who might end up as a keeper as 7th back and adding Malcheski I would only have to upgrade two more positions in my defense being Maguire and Ladson. :thumbsu:

$187,000 int he kitty so only one trade required.

Who would you get rid of out of Hunt or Ladson? I'm thinking Hunt at this stage as I reckon Ladson has more potential to score higher playing on the wing, etc.

Re: Round 4 trades

16 trades left

roo > grundy

tippett > brennan

will use the spare cash to upgrade masten/cotchin to judd. i still have clark and i am not going to trade him.

rioli burnt me last year with injuries and is too inconsistent at 417k i already have enough money not going to trade for that.

the grundy trade is to allow me to swap waite/grundy fwd/def for injuries or future uber-premium upgrade.

Re: Round 4 trades

Had this in the other thread, looking for a 2nd opinion but for others it might offer some ideas.
------------
I have Riewoldt/Tippett to trade out in the forward line with 64k extra to play with (Dangerfield I'll be keeping).

Option 1: (113/118k extra)
Riewoldt > Higgins
Tippett > Rioli/Grundy

Option 2: (298k extra)
Riewoldt > Chapman
Tippett > Rockliff

I want Higgins or Chapman as you can see and I think these options look good because I'll have the 3 of the best forwards in the league (don't care about hammy trouble for Chappy).

Martin > Judd will be on the cards soon and 300k will be required for me to do that quite easily once I downgrade Bastinac or Hunt/Maguire.

Thoughts?

Re: Round 4 trades

No trades.

Goodes (165 or so) and Pav (125) have significant B/E's... wait for next week and every chance to save yourself a good $35k each. Goodes < $500K and ditto Pav makes it almost straight swaps for Roo/ Tippett

At this rate, Jolly will be a very minor upgrade or possibly even a downgrade for Tippett in 1-2 weeks.

Cannot work out why I was the only one to buy Judd from the start... always going to be desirable, so no trades used to get him:confused:

i would go with option 1 mate and pick rioli as that trade for tippet. he looks like hes in good form so far in the season and he'll only get better. may get more attention as the year goes on but i dont think itll matter.

im not 100% on higgins but hes one player im looking at in exchange for roo. i m pretty sure he's the best bet that i can afford at this point in time out of the players i want (cant afford chappy by about 1k :() but higgins seems to have his season going the right way

Who do you think is the best option for roo...im only looking at 1 trade this week:
Roo > Pav, Goodes, Higgins or anyone else you could suggest

Re: Round 4 trades

Roo >> Rioli plus pocket around 160k plus the 60k in bank already gives me around 241k
Next week, Hoping that Gary Ablett goes down a little in price ill do higgins to Ablett.

Thoughts?

Giving me a midfield of Ablett, Montagna, Cooney, Hodge(MPP with Goddard or Gilbee),Selwood and Barlow (bastinac, martin)

anything?

Re: Round 4 trades

Really only have two options for Roo: Harvey and ROK.

Harvey would net me a lot of cash and could allow me to jump on Newman when his price hits rock bottom, but Harvey has a few tough weeks ahead (starting this week when he's likely to get the Kirk tag). Don't think he'll be able to average over 105 this year. ROK on the other hand has easy weeks ahead, has been consistent all year and can deal with a tag. I wouldn't usually make this trade because ROK is nearly at his highest price and it goes against my "buy low, sell high" rule, but he's looking too good to pass up. Rioli doesn't really seem like the best option to me, too many questions over his health/keeper status although all that extra money would be nice.

So basically, should I chase the cash and upgrades or the points?

Re: Round 4 trades

What are everyones thoughts on doing roo to hurley and tippet to Sandi?

hurley is overpriced, clark to sandi is a no-brainer, unless you have patience/no trades like me.

don't spend too much on the rucks maybe wait till cox "breaks" even around round 5-6 and he will be back to full fitness, near straight swap for clark.

Good move I reckon.

Hurley will be the Bombers main target up forward so should see plenty of the the pill.

Kicked 4 goals in the 2's on the weekend so is in good form.

My mate is doing the same trade Tippet > Hurley aswell. Sounds like a winner to me. :thumbsu:

hurley will draw the 1st defender, last year he had lloyd doing the donkey work. he will score 80s like travis cloke, useful 7th forward but peterson/podsdialdy might be a better option.

+ cox will be everyone's upgrade target come round 6, he was looking ominous last week, nicnat will do less ruck once he returns to full fitness.

Thinking of the same trade mate...and looking for answers. I agree that Ladson probably has a higher ceiling, but Hunt has great job security, tends not to get injured (funny to say that about someone coming back from a knee reco I know) and is a pretty consistent player who should only improve over the next few weeks. So I guess that doesn't help at all! Take comfort in the fact that it is doing my head in also.

To finance this I am looking at passing passing over Brown and getting Pavlich for Riewoldt - do you (or anyone else) think that this is a flawed strategy?

Nah mate, nothing wrong with getting Pav in instead of J.Brown as he is a quality player too. I have Pav and Brown so I guess I can't lose but yeah Pav is an awesome pick if you can't afford Brown so lock that trade in I say. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 4 trades

Chapmans easily the best out of that lot as evidenced on the weekend he can get some massive scores. :thumbsu:

Only thing you have to worry about with him is his hamstrings but then again if you pick Higgins he could hurt his groin again so don't let Chappys hamstrings put you off.

I'm personally going Riewoldt > Chappy as I think he is the next best available after Pav, ROK and Brown who I also have. ;)

Cheers. Be sure to let us all know if you come up with an answer to the Ladson/Hunt dilema before the end of the week. Bloody hard to split 'em!

Re: Round 4 trades

I think I might just go Roo > Brown this week, wait another week to see what I will do with Dangerfield.
