Scenario when we win. Who and where do we play?

When we win on Saturday what happen next week. I figure.

We play the loser of West Coast vs Sydney.

Now will this game be in Victoria?

I don't think it would be but i'm not sure.

Who do we prefer to play?

I actually really think that Sydney will win so i reckon West Coast. But will that be in Perth or here, if it is here, we are looking good.

Does anyone know where that game will be played.

Winner of Geelong Melbourne will play the loser of Sydney WC interstate.

If we beat Melbourne, I think Sydney may be a better outcome for us given the game will be played on the open spaces of Stadium Australia where the swans have struggled a little.

Edit: eh too late, I agree with the above actually, Sydney has a great advantage at the SCG, Stadium Australia would be better for us.

Yeah i would take Sydney over Eagles if we have to play interstate especially at Telstra Stadium.
Unfortunately i reckon the Swans will win, but what would i know.

If we win, our Semi Final draw will look like this:

Sydney/West Coast vs Geelong
Telstra Stadium/Subiaco
Friday 9th September
7:40pm

IF we win that, then our Prelim Final will be

Adelaide/St Kilda vs Geelong
AAMI Stadium/MCG
Friday 16th/Saturday 17th September
8:10pm (CST)/2:30pm or 7:10pm

Channel 10 are wanting the Prelim Final on the Friday Night for their own purposes, but the AFL are wanting to have both Prelim Finals on the Saturday (one day and one night) so as both teams have pretty much the same recovery. There were a lot of complaints last year about Brisbane having to play Saturday Night and travel back to Brisbane, while Port played Friday Night and was able to get a little extra recovery.

The AFL even issued an apology in their Annual Report over the issue. Personally I believe both should be played on the Saturday.

Looks likely if we want to make the Granny we will have to win interstate twice (unless Stkilda beat Adelaide).
It's going to be tough.

Yes...very tough, too tough IMO.
But...I do think we will win this week, and you never know what can happen!

IMO Sydney would be the team to play. Espicially when we would not have to make the trip to the SCG, although Sydney ran an undermaned Geelong outfit off its legs earlier in the year, so their leg speed may be a worry on ground with such wide wings. However, i would still love another crack at the Swans with the team we have in at the moment. I think we would match up extremely well.

Playing the Eagles would be a nightmare because we have struggled there for years and i dont think that would change under finals intensity.

Realistically, i dont think we will feature deep in Spetember yet i would love to see the cats get up this weekend to give the young boys some valuable finals experience which will hold us in good stead for the upcoming seasons.

Yeah we'll play either Wcoast or sydney interestate in two weeks, and didnt think of playing sydney at telstra stadium. I hope that is how it works out but either way i dont think we are good enough, atm, to play prelims, but hope i'm wrong.

Have Geelong ever played at Stadium Aust? I've been living in Syd for 3 years and it hasn't happened in that time.
Also heard a rumour that the game will be at the SCG as Stadium Australia is booked that night - maybe the soccer??

We have never played at Telstra Stadium before! Be a new venue for us to play at. Cant see them changing it, as far as I know there is no soccer as that is being played THIS Saturday Night at Aussie Stadium.
