Hi all,

I am looking to visit Sydney (I can sense your excitement already) late this year to see a game at the SCG. I have always travelled to Melbourne for games in the past but have always wanted to see an SCG game.

I have a Tassie Swans membership but this only entitles me a ticket to an MCG game.

When do tickets for games become available? I am worried that if I go ahead and book flights etc I may miss out on the actual game and that would be a tragedy!

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

I wouldn't be too concerned, if I were you, about getting a ticket. It was a bit of an issue last season when a quarter of the ground was a building site and there were very few public entry tickets available. But they've now more or less completed the concourse area under the new stand and there's a lot more public seating available. The only SCG game we've had this year was far from a sell-out. There were empty seats all over the ground.

I think that in general tickets go on sale two weeks before each game. But if you go onto the Ticketek site you can probably test this by seeing which games, if any, are on sale. The next SCG game is May 4 and it will probably tell you when these tickets went on sale, if indeed they are yet.

I'd say you have close to zero chance of missing out on tickets if you buy them even a few days in advance, let alone 2 weeks ahead of time.

Thanks Liz, you are an absolute champ.:thumbsu:

I think the night game against the Crows in round 17 would be a good one. Nice to see us break the drought against them. According to the Swans site, tickets go on sale June 26 which is exactly a month beforehand.

You all have no idea how excited I am about seeing a 'home' game. I am at work and cannot concentrate - not good for productivity at all!

Never take seeing the Swannies for granted all you locals!

EBA, as Liz states, you have about zero chance of missing out, but as an interstate member, I'd be contacting the club, tell them you are coming to town from Tassie and try to obtain Members passes into the Noble/Ladies Stand.

Shouldn't be difficult.

Even sold out games never get sold out as they usually have single tickets for sale.. Most of the SCG games i've rocked up to the 'sold out' games and usually the single seats are available but def contact the members org too, i know last year they were asking Swans members who weren't attending the game to re sell their ticket.

hey guys, i don't no how to start a thread but i was just interested in the scg faciltys..do they have an indoor pool? a good gym and so on if anyone could help plz do so.

What would people suggest as the best value for tickets given the following;
Sydney Cricket Ground Ticket Prices

Platinum = $75
Gold = $56
Silver = $36
Bronze = $20

Is that the side that the Swans run out on??

Yeah, i'm in Bay 29. They run out between Bays 28 and 29. If you don't wanna sit in the sun all day then you should try to get seats around that area. Pretty much as soon as the game starts the sun goes over you, I loveee it. I hate the sun.

Edit: Which game are you coming for? Day or night game?

Tix for the Adelaide game go on sale June 26. Best seats with Silver classification are in the upper Messenger stand - a close grandstand view at a concourse price, except there is no cover. If you can con the club or an eligible member into a members guest pass (for the MA Noble or Ladies stand) they are $40 - best seat in the house but unreserved seating FIBD. Members guest pass will also automatically get you in to the after match function.

The remaining home games are all night games.

I love night games :D

wow im super excited for u

my friend Emma is taking me 2 my 1st game at the MCG when i go down even though it wont be a swans game (its a pies game :D) im still super excited

Confirmed. Front row of the MA Noble, right dead centre behind the goals. Been sitting there for 10 years, so nobody take them!

i got membership
but i know at least 1 person every week that just walks up
no pre purchased tix
just goes to box office on game day and buys a ticket...theres always at least 1 spare seat afterall haha
tickets should be the least of your worries
btw, if you want a particular bay though, your better off to call ticketek or go to a box office
i dont think you can choose your bay on the internet and its just randomised

The club has told me as I am a member (interstate) that I can get my tickets two days before they go on sale to the public. This has set my mind at ease on missing out. Now I just need to decide where to sit?!

Do you all suggest closest to the fence or on the first tier up?

I sit up on the second tier of the Churchill stand, just near the scoreboard at the... non-Paddington end. Gives you a damn good look over the whole field and gives me the option of not craning my neck like a goon when Tyranno-vision can decide what I watch.

Good gym yes and an outdoor pool that I know of. Both are accessable with an SCG members pass of a certain level.

As an interstate member, can they let you just purchase members reserve passes ?

I'd ask the question and then just sit in the Noble Stand, non reserved seating, first in, best dressed.

No-brainer if they give you that option.
