Collingwood 1990, 2010 and 2023 all the definition of flash in the pan
Shouldn’t this trolling shit be in the bay?

2010 was flanked by another grand final, three preliminary finals and a semi final.

2023 was preceded by another grand final, two preliminary finals and a semi final (and a seventeenth).

Complete opposite of flash in the pan. Both those sides were in the mix for half a decade.

Been an amazing player but should have retires after last years GF and what a way to go out that would have been. Unfortunately he has played one season too long so if he goes on surely its just to chase records
How'd he go last night ? 27 touches against your mob, if only he retired you might be top 4 right now

Pendles is running out for game number 426 right now. Fair to say he should be able to break Boomer's record of 432 games this year and even put a bit of distance on the previous record.
Our management were stupid for punting Boomer when they did, still had more in him.

Won't begrudge Pendles though when he breaks the record. Brilliant player still operating near the peak of his powers.

26 touches in 55% TOG.

The Rolls Royce won’t quit.

The abolition of the sub rule has also helped in that he can be the 'fifth rotation' which we've seen in games this weekend, where they have limited TOG because the interchange cap has not been increased even if the number of people on the bench has increased by 25%. It means he can come on and be an impact player which probably suits Pendlebury perfectly.

I hope he gets to 433, love watching him play, he always seems to have half a second more to dispose of the ball than the others around him, and he uses it to his advantage.

See how the new 5 on the bench evolves but gee he still ads so much to the side.

The key with all these guys is they don’t really lose whatever speed they have (even if it wasn’t that much to begin with) and they don’t get soft tissue injuries.

Fletcher played til he was 40, Harvey 38, Tuck 38, Burgoyne 39.

There is no reason at all why Pendlebury wouldn’t have a year or two left, just depends on his form. Age is just a number if you’re in the right shape and can easily run rings around players five years younger.

Agree.

Of the Pies old veterans - Pendles, Sidey and Howe - Pendles probably the fav to keep going in 2027.

And when the game was there to be won tonight, who was again assured and composed under pressure?

You guessed it - S. Pendlebury.

Yep one of the best BOG against St Kilda.....maybe the BOG. Only had 55 minutes of T.O.G (time on ground) and got 26 disposals at 81% disposal efficiency, 5 goal assists and 10 score involvements. Really good game especially when the screws were tightened and the pressure was there.

His last AA was 7 years ago and his last B&F was 10 years ago, he still just looks like 80-90%+ of what he was at his peak. Statistically he isn't and plays a lesser role now, but he doesn't look like he's lost anything,

Burgoyne and Fletcher sort of hung around chasing 400. There was a lot of fanfare for Boomer getting to 426 and then 427 and then getting de-listed on 432 because North, but Tuck's record looked like was unbreakable for a few decades.

Pendles in true Pendles style has just casually made his way up to #2 on the list with an entire season ahead. I imagine one day he will just decide to retire like Forrest Gump in Monument Valley and that will be that. Probably not mid season if Collingwood are still contending but you could see them losing a prelim or something and he just casually tells Abbey Holmes 'Yeah I've played 497 times that's probably enough. Did you know I used to play basketball?'.

Harvey is still playing. He's nearly 50.
