Not going to get involved in bickering over whether or not Moore would make a good leader. or Grundy. They are both worthy to be in the leadership group, IMO.Why is that? Aside from being a very good footballer how can we make that judgement? Because the only evidence we have (ability aside) is his approach to contracts. Like Grundy he marches to the best of his own drum which is fine in an unofficial capacity, but Moore needs to be better in order to be considered an obvious leadership candidate in my eyes.
A good starting point would be to re-sign long term before the season starts for below what he could get on the open market. Stop piss farting with short term deals and lead by the front by committing long term (let’s say 4-5 years at $800k).
I very much agree with the other 4 names depending on which Daicos you were referencing (Nick will be our next generational captain as early as 2025).
