Scott Selwood vs Brad Ebert?

This is actually a really good one.

Ebert was known for his dodgy disposal but has really improved his kicking since he moved back to Port. Is a good overhead mark, kicks goals, good tackler and works his backside off both ways.

Selwood is a better tackler and is better in around the stoppages but doesn't kick enough goals and his disposal has let him down this year. He is a very good tagger.

Both good leaders with good tanks. Both aren't that quick or athletically gifted.

I think I would say Ebert had the better year and with versatility being so important, I would have him marginally ahead. In saying that though, if Selwood cleans up his disposal like Ebert has, I would put him back in front as he is so good in close.

Sloane and Danger are both better than Ebert. Crouch is about on par currently, but will be a better player. Ebert is a good player, severely underrated. I'd take him over Scooter.

I'm talking this year only. I think Crouch has delivered a couple of better performances than Ebert, but Ebert has been a lot more consistent. Ebert is more your Richard Douglas type, but he's better than Douglas, whereas Crouch is more your Wingard type, has talent to burn and usually performs well, and can break a game open. Ebert usually doesn't break a game open, although I have seen him do it on occasion.

Bit hard for Crouch to have played consistently "for years" when he's only played one season, which was better than Ebert, allowing for having played less games. Ebert has had two consistent years of footy, I guess technically that classifies as "performed consistency for years". For the record, Crouch has Ebert covered for average disposals, contested possessions, clearances and disposal efficiency. But that's OK, Brad "leadership" Ebert has 0.6 more tackles*.

I think Ebert has more upside in him, but as it stands I prefer Selwood.

Selwood is an outstanding player at full flight and I think he'll end up the better player. Both very good.

Since coming to Port, Ebert has been far and away our most consistent player. Not only that, he has incredibly impressive leadership qualities that makes it easy to say the following.

I was rightfully pissed when the Eagles let Ebert go. I saw this happening (him becoming a good player).
Makes me a sad panda.

I like Ebert because hes tall and a good mark. It's the sort of mid we could do with.
But as Eagles fan.... <bias>Selwood is way betta! Ebert is some chode who can't kick etc... we didn't even want him </bias>
