G'DAY all,

i have a bit of cash left over and i am planning to put a bet on thompson as a roughie for the brownlow

should i??

i check up on him every week and he seems to be consistant...

last i checked he's going at $126

your thoughts.........

He probably was flying along quite well there at one stage but then got tagged out of a few games. It's a real long shot (hence the odds) and probably not worth wasting your money on. If you'd like to make a donation though, I'd be happy to accept! ;):D

BTW: He's probably in our top 1 or 2 in the B & F for the Crows this year.

Depends how much you want or need to get in return.

Better to put money on him getting a place in the brownlow than winning it, or alternatively bet on him to be the leading Crows vote getter, although Im sure the odds would be very small.

There's a thread with this exact subject somewhere from about late April / early May: is Thommo worth it?

Just like natty is saying now, i'd put a place bet on Thompson back then, at about 33/1. Odds are worth it and we saw last year he can pick up votes but his second half of the season hasn't been enough. Couple of bucks for a laugh.

Right now i'm thinking Cooney @ 13/1, Swan @ 26/1 (thanks CC) and oh Richardson and Riewoldt are both 17/1... (tonight's Centrebet odds)

I'm already in the money as long as Melbourne win the wooden spoon (5/1 before the season)!!!

He is $126 for a reason, has gone quiet in the second half of the year. Put a bet on if you want, but you would be blowing your dosh.

Last year you could bet on a Top 5 finish - it won't be out until closer to the day, but that may be a better option.
