Why do we celebrate the so called 'achievements' of those who finished 2nd and 3rd in the olympics? You lost, get that stupid smile off your face and throw that medal in the bin where it belongs. The silver medal goes to the guy who lost, and the bronze goes to the guy who lost to the other guy that lost. Does that not seem ridiculous to anybody or is it just me? The olympics should be about revering the best athletes in the world. Not the second and third best. You failed, go home and try again in 4 years. No breakfast cereal commercials for you.

Whilst i'm on the olympics, for god's sake let them do roids if they want to. The olympics wouldn't exist if nobody watched it, so how about rewarding the people who watch it with some freakish superhuman performances, rather than the mundane efforts we see from the drug free athletes?

They didn't lose - they came 2nd and 3rd...from all possible people in the world. Seems OK to celebrate being the 2nd/3rd best competitor in the world in your chosen sport

The 2nd and 3rd are amongst the best athletes in the world. If you just revered the gold medalist, you would only be revering the best athlete (singular).

Yes, they DID lose. There's only two possible outcomes, you win an event OR you lose an event. The silver medalist did not win, nor did bronze.
