good point to clarify position rules.

If a player is madly out of position the it gets changed - so Blake is a RM.

For other players each coach will be able to challenge up to 2 players on their squad.


POSITION CHALLENGES
To qualify for a position change a player must have been NAMED by their AFL team more than 40% of the time in the position over the 22 regular season games last year (or however many games played). If a player doesn't have a position that gets to 40% then its the position named the most. If the number of games is equal then you can choose.

Example : Lets say Luke Power was named as a midfielder 9 times and 13 times as a forward then his position as a midfielder can be challenged and he becomes a forward.

I found a website that has all last years teams round by round that's easier to use the scrolling through the AFL websites archive.

It is suggested you check yourself (effectively you then won't waste a challenge). We don;t have to wait until the draft is over is you know a player you will definately be challenging.


REMINDER: that during the season a player will start qualified in one postion but once they are named 3 times in another position (not in a row) then they qualify in both positions. The only alternative to this is if a player is named in both rounds 1 and 2 then they qualify.

At the end of the season players will revert to a single position - with the 40% naming rule allowing coaches to select the one position.

Stazza, when we challenge for two players on the team, I take it you can have only the new posistion you challenge for??

If it is ok with you, and everyone else, can we have two players which can play in two posistions? And the criteria listed above has to still stand, they have to play between 60% and 40%.

EG.

Dean Cox is a ruck, but plays forward quiet occasionaly, so he would be listed in both posistions.

What's your thoughts?
