Can't help but look at a couple of glaring negatives to come out of this season.
- Moore is the only one to have exceeded expectations and to be the only new regular contributor.
- Despite a very good run of injuries, we haven't made the 8.
- Axile has struggled with tags.
- Bling, McGuanne, Schultz, Hughes, Edwards, Conners, Morton, JON, Reiwoldt, Jackson, Polo, Casserly etc etc have not taken huge steps in they're developement and haven't been able to make a spot there's.
- Cotchin is the only one to establish himself as being able to win the ball from contests.
- We have not found a key forward, 2nd Ruckman or more players to rotate through mid-field, except Cotchin who I think we all expected to.

Maybe I've expected to much, but I would have thought we would have seen a lot more of the younger players, we still rely heavily on the older players Richo, Bowden, Tuck, Simmonds, Brown to have good games for us to win games.

I think you guys have made some incredible improvements this year :)
Mitch Morton is going to be a star. 31 goals is pretty good for a young guy!
Reiwoldt is the same, going to be huge.

I can't help but agree. Dead last to still in the finals hunt with two rounds to go is pretty poor.
Don't think I mentioned the ladder position. Naturally everybody would be rapt with the win loss ratio, but don't think thats what I mentioned and certainly hope when developing a side we are not looking soley for short term success ?

Well we would be in the eight quite comfortably if we had beaten the doggies and the saints like we should've. We have improved as a team as the year has gone on and I think we are too rough on our key forwards. We are all looking for a new Richo when there isn't one. We don't need one. We just need players that can hold a position and hold it well, Riewoldt has shown great potential and Hughes has shown match-turning capabilities. A team doesn't need a star in the forward line e.g the doggies this year. They have just had a lot of forwards who can make a difference, this is what I see our team heading towards - but with taller key position players.

Many picked us for the bottom four this year and rightly so. Our youngsters have stood up and we have made great improvements. I look forward to the not to distant future. Go Tigers!

Good points...don't agree 100% (mainly re: Bling & Jack) , but yeah that's what every rational supporter does ..looks at everything... negatives and positives...then suffer the slings and arrows of those at both ends of the spectrum who only look at one aspect...and invariably accuse you of being at the opposite end.... such is the burden of the realist...:o

Thanks for you valuable contribution...you negative ****?? Based on what i heard from tiger fans last year, we've exceeded expectations, i heard talk of a 10-12th place finish being acceptable, it may be unlikely, but we're still a chance for finals, People like you bring down the footy club. **** OFF

I always thought the ladder position is determined by the group of players names you just mentioned and their ability to play to elevate themselves up it. Surely we dont majically slide up the ladder without some player input. Or am I missing something??

I'm pretty sure Mortons secured his spot. All the weagles kept telling us was he's lazy and will never do anything so how is his performance not a huge improvement based on that?

Yes, some people are just like that...even when they have to wholesale invent the negatives or exaggerate them beyond all belief.

- Moore is the only one to have exceeded expectations and to be the only new regular contributor.

Morton - how you could leave him out is beyond me
White - had played less games than Moore going into this season and spent most of last year at Coburg

Could include another 8-10 players at least, but I suppose your response would be that you 'expected' all the improvements they've made?

- Despite a very good run of injuries, we haven't made the 8.

And you were 'expecting' us to go from 16th to top-8? You and Pat Malone.

- Axile has struggled with tags.

Has still had a very good season and I love how you expect massive improvement from every single player, but don't allow a little leeway for a bloke like Foley who has gone from an under the radar midfielder to the one getting the no.1 tagger every week.

- Bling, McGuanne, Schultz, Hughes, Edwards, Conners, Morton, JON, Reiwoldt, Jackson, Polo, Casserly etc etc have not taken huge steps in they're developement and haven't been able to make a spot there's.

Apart from Casserley, all have improved significantly in a number of key areas.

Rather than applaud and acknowledge their collective improvement as a major positive, you decide to have a moan about it and pretend it's a negative. Unbelievable.

- Cotchin is the only one to establish himself as being able to win the ball from contests.

Yeah, we've been in the top handful of teams all season for contested ball (and been no.1 at times), but only Cotchin can win a contest.

FMD...that's one area where there has been the MASSIVE improvement you demand, but you still choose not to see it.

- We have not found a key forward, 2nd Ruckman or more players to rotate through mid-field, except Cotchin who I think we all expected to.

Hughes and Reiwoldt's efforts this year as 2nd and 3rd year players were not up to your ridiculously lofty standards?

Beating Hawthorn in the centre all day with Foley and Johnson not there didn't involve numerous young midfielders stepping up to get the job done?

Keep hunting desperately for negatives...you might actually find a couple of genuine ones if you really obsess about it.

where the ****en hell did you crawl out from....how about explaning how we've managed to win 4 times as many games as 2007...if there was a sembalnce of sense in that tripe we would have made no further impression on last years 3 wins, GOT IT:eek:

The ferals seem appeased with some meaningless wins and a 9th finish. We are the laughing stock of the AFL, but it's better than two top 5 picks eh.:)

Correct. Cotchin isn't a season, he's a player.

I think you are being a bit harsh on the highlighted players. I think Bling, McGuane and Morton have improved significantly this year. Edwards, Conners and Reiwoldt have also improved but only slightly.

Also Tuck is not an old player. I think he is only 25 or 26. He is also another who has shown huge improvement in the second half of the year.
