West Coast Wonders vs Baghdad Bombers
Match Preview: Round 12

Summary

With the Super Qooty weekend over we now turn our attention to round 12 and this contest should be a cracker. 9th vs 10th and a finals position on offer to the winner. Can it get much bigger than that? The Bombers and Wonders are both on 5 wins 6 losses for the season and both team’s percentages on the average side. We have the Wonders as a better offensive unit (only just) vs the Bombers who have a much better defensive unit up against each other. The Bombers are coming off 2 solid wins in a row while the Wonders knocked off the top side in the Royals last weekend on Friday night Qooty.

LAST TIME THEY MET

Bombers_vs_Wonders.jpg

The last time these two sides met was round 1 of the SFA season. Much excitement and anticipation for the new season was alive and well however the result wasn’t the same. A comfortable victory saw the Bombers extend their dominance as the side to beat after winning last season’s premiership. The Wonders only managed 5 goals in their round 1 match up with the Bombers with the last season premierships thinking how good is this.

Tony Lynn 15 had a big week in the match thread and backed it up on the field with 24 disposals whilst his captain HaroLad was solid with his 22 disposals. @PhenominalV1 kicked 4 goals for the home side when he was a much-liked figure at the club.

For the Wonders, not a lot to smile about in that round 1 match. Rookie D_P_S was the Wonders best in his first Qooty game with 18 disposals while William Wonka played a hand in his first Wonders game with 13 touches. Bucking Beads was the only multiple goal scorer for the Wonders on the day.

I decided to leave this out of the OP as it deserves it's own post. The Wonders are celebrating 2 big milestones this weekend within the club. JT_the_Man is celebrating his 100th SFA game while club legend BallaratBulldog plays game 300.

JT_the_Man is a premiership player with the club back in S21 and has gone about his business quietly. Playing down back this season, JT has still somehow found himself up forward (which he believes is his best position ;)) and has gotten on the end of some goals.

As captain of the club, I'd like to congratulate JT on a splendid first 100 SFA games, now let's get out and have a win for him

This is a very special moment we're apart of here at the Wonders. Wonders hall of fame member BallaratBulldog on Sunday will run out for his 300th SFA match at the Colosseum. A 3x Best and Fairest winner, an All-SFA representive and a 4x Premiership player, BallaratBulldog will go down in Wonders history as one of the greats. Sunday night is a special night, and I urge you all come and see BallaratBulldog shine on the big stage.

Smart move getting me to half back ... aggressive at the body and a good leg. Rebound defender feeding our superstar forwards. Juicy.
