I'll try one, but I can't spend long on it 'cause I got a s**t-tonne of stuff to do today.

The City Competition
--------------------
Earliest known records of the City Competition are dated at SER02*, when four teams tried conclusions on the fields of the Dun Lop parklands where SFA Park now sits. These teams (Dun Lop, Mercantile, North Bank, & South Sweet) may have played for longer, but this is far back as records were retained for a social league.

After SER06, both the Mercantile and South Sweet clubs disbanded, leaving only two competing entities, but the competition was strengthened by an influx from other competitions : The Titans transferred from the Sweet FA, Kieran Ward, CFSSL and Razors came in from the Suburban FA and the newly formed Embers FC arrived from the dissolved Northern Association. 7 teams now competed.

After SER07, a decision was made to optimize the City Competition. Dun Lop and North Bank merged to create a 6-team league, and thus the Vipers came into being.

Following SER08, the CFSSL team changed name to the Mod Squad and left for the big league. the OFG Warriors took their place, and the City Comp continued from SER09 to SER14 in this format : Titans, OFG, Kieran Ward, Razors, Embers & Vipers.

For the SER15 season, the Kieran Killers had merged with South Coast and left for the District FL. The City Comp was running under the steam of just 5 clubs now, in an era that was increasingly requiring more robust competitor sets to survive. Talks immediately began of more rationalisation.

The Northern Association
------------------------
The Northern Associaton began to fall apart in SER06* when the Koalas moved to the Sweet FA and Darkness Eternal also departed to join the District league. The four remaining teams, three from the mining regions and the Bell Post club from out east, saw the writing on the wall.

After SER06, a decision was made to wind up the Northern Association. Bell Post was admitted to the Suburban FA, while the other three clubs merged in an attempt to form a super-club capable of competing in the Sweet FA - the Embers.

The Embers were refused admission to the city's premier competition, and instead moved to the City Competition, where they would stay until the end of SER15.

To The Sweet FA
---------------
A slot had opened up in the premier competition and many clubs vied for acceptance - applications came from various teams around Sweet. The OFG Warriors formed a case, but it was the agreement between the Embers and the Vipers to join forces as the new Gold City Royals which would tilt the scales in their favour.

The City Competition was dissolved and all three other clubs joined the Suburban FA, while the Embers and the Vipers stepped up to the big league under the banner of the Royals.
