In the first stage, you can see that almost the entire expanse of land (foreground) which now makes up both Farrand precinct (of Nou Camp), was empty of buildings. There is one commerclal premise top-right corner, and there are trees down at our end of the image. There's a signpost down there too, denoting where Old Town Road turns off from Legend Parade. In the middle of the field, as mentioned earlier, there is a single sheep.

If you look more closely, there are two more things of note in this area. Go on, have a look. See if you can spot it. I'll give you a moment, then check against the spoiler below the image.

1. Among the trees, there is a cow. When Old Town Road was built, bisecting Farrand and Thewlis Precincts, a single cow and a single sheep ended up caught this side of the division. Both would be filtered back over to the Thewlis Precinct later, when development ramped up.
2. There is a single leaf block floating freely above the northern end of the paddock. This is the last remaining evidence of what used to be a small jungle tree farm. It had been cut down, and replanted out in Outback District (then known as Outback Territory before suburb abbreviations were introduced - it then clashed with Old Town). This is why the folder where these images were discovered was not named simply "Farrand Precinct" but as Farrand Precinct aka Jungle Estate

Next, we will examine the beginnings of a network of streets propogating across the paddock, as Farrand Precinct begins to form.

Additional note: Farrand Precinct technically embraces not only this block, but also a small number of buildings on the far side of Farrand Street - the narrow street connecting Old Town Road to Legend Parade up near the top of the photo.

In this new image, fencelines spray across the paddock in preparation for a network of roads to spill forth. Half the area has been affected, and the oak trees have very recently been removed, as can be seen from the smattering of leaf blocks still hovering over the south end. Already, pathways can be espied. Soon they'll cover the entire region.

Planning can be a little arduous, but usually with a loose approach, ama.gif , I can adjust as I go, and allotments fall into place with some trial and error. Every property needs street access of some kind.

What else can be seen here? Well, let's look closer.

The fenceline around Old Town Road on the left seems to block the street. That's deliberate, but also only temporary. This is a snapshot midway through the relocation of the livestock which were starnded in Farrand Precinct. While the sheep has already scarpered over to Thewlis, but the cow has been loitering. It will soon be out of the way as well, and the the fence will be places back where it needs to be.

No room for livestock when development is in the wings.

A short time later and the entire paddock has been completely covered with fencelines plotting out streets and property allotments. The cow has moved on from Old Town Road & the fences there have also been repaired into a less jarring state.

The oddest thing here is how the other two livestock in picture, the sheep and the other cow over in Thewlis Precinct, seem to have barely moved from their locations in the previous image.

But the focus is on the developed paddock, now fully fleshed out and ready for roadways to be built.

We'll push through the next 3 images at once, showing a road network coming into being.

Here is how the roads are added.
1. Remove the dirt were the road needs to be, exposing the ocean underneath. That's right, two thirds of Sweet is built over a terraformed ocean.
2. Dive into that ocean, and get some blocks placed underneath, a support for the roads to come. I'll be using gravel, and it gravel doesn't float. ( Oddly enough, stone does float :D )
3. Place gravel down on these supports, and now we have streets.

Note that dirt and stone and even wood are a grind to collect, but gravel - gravel is an absolute bitch to find!

You've got to be quick, but when the water is exposed, the bottom-left-hand street shows a stone construction passing beneath. That's the metro rail system, travelling between Old Town and Municipal subway stations.
