For his second time with 1173 DT this season’s BOG is thewizardmelon.
The Old Boys are blessed with rucking talent, boasting two premiership rucks in Elton Johns Wig and Tigerturbulance. Securing a spot in the middle is no easy feat, but Wiz grabbed his chance this season and delivered in rucking great style.

Wiz’s numbers tell the story:

• 188 Hit Outs (second-most in the entire SWEET FA, just two shy of first)
• Team-high 170 Kicks
• Team-High 188 Hit Outs
• Team-high DT score of 1254

A terrific season and a key reason the Old Boys surged into finals — Wiz was often the first touch of the qooty and set the tone for the team on field.

When Robertio departed, it was Elton Johns Wig who stepped forward without hesitation taking on the mantle of Vice‑Captain and representing the Old Boys in the committee room. In real life, he’s busier than a rookie trying to spell “hors d’oeuvres,” yet he still found the time to be a confidant, a steady hand, and the voice that kept our LG informed and united.

The Chancellor’s Cup is awarded not just for deeds on the field, but for the unseen work that keeps the snake pit strong. Elton Johns Wig has been invaluable in ensuring the Old Boys remain connected, respected, and well‑represented.

So tonight, we salute you Wiggy:

• For stepping up when duty called.

To claim this esteemed award, a player must:

Demonstrate commitment and contribution to the team culture.

• Points Allocation per H&A game each week:

  • 2 points: 35–49 posts
  • 1 point: 20–34 posts

This season’s DOB goes to one of our favourite canines, who played all 14 games on the Half Back Flank, taking on some of the opposition’s best forwards and repelling countless attacks. His stats speak volumes: 90 kicks, 48 marks, 104 handballs, and a DT tally of 660.

The winner of the Season 40 Defensive Old Boy is Pugsley; a tenacious competitor who plays far bigger than his size. Whether disrupting opponents with leg humping or dragging his arse across the field to throw them off their game, Pugs has been a defensive cornerstone all season. Well done, Pugs, on a brilliant season of qooty!

Favorite Ophidian Player Winner

​

It was heartening to see the votes spread across so many Old Boys, a true reflection of the camaraderie and spirit that defines this team.

Yet through all that shared recognition, one name kept bounding onto the ballots with the persistence of a pup chasing a loose ball: the mischievous pug himself. Pugsley energy was impossible to ignore, his impact undeniable, and his presence a reminder that sometimes the cheekiest spark can light up the whole snake pit. Despite facing RL challenges this season, Pugs kept showing up, kept the energy alive, and made the experience better for everyone around him.
