So much harder than it had to be. Up until the last quarter it was like watching the St Louis game all over again. If we don't fix our 3rd down defence then Carolina will kill us.

Interestingly Minnesota only went 23% on 3rd down - they were picking up a lot on 1st and 2nd down. It's about forcing more distance. You can't be 3rd and 3 or less v the Panthers - Cam will run for the first every time. You need to stop drives dead or blow them up when Cam goes deep.

23%? It felt like a lot more than that.
Just looking through the drive chart I believe they went 3/13 which included a 5 yard penalty on us on 3rd and 1. They also converted a 4th and 1.

But both offences were shisen which was half of it.

The '9ers are out of the playoffs. So I'll be supporting the Seahawks from now on this year. Mon morning Aus time, bring it on. The Panthers are a big ask though.

Still haven't gotten over last years Superbowl. What was the Seahawks Offense Co-ordinator thinking?

'Beast Mode' Marshawn L. tearing it up all game...but no, 2nd down and goal just 1m out, in the 4thQ, let's throw a risky ticki-tacca 2m pass.

Shattered.

Clock. Run it and not get in you have to burn a time out. Throw it and it is incomplete the clock stops and then run it on 3rd down and use the time out if Beast doesn't get in.

Into the breach once more.

Only one meeting since RW3 was drafted was more than a score - and that was because of a Kam pick 6.

Well that's that.

More than anything we need to win the division.

Cary Williams cost us big time.

Dont worry Maxwell has and will cost Phili more than Williams cost you. ;)

(agree though, he was ****ing useless)

Only have ourselves to blame. I don't why they constantly feel they can play 1 half and win. Cable's projects continually get shown up against good defences and it's about time that Schneider and Pete ignore him and draft some proper o-line players. Russell not throwing the ball away also cost us. Again. Beast not getting many carries was also quite strange.

I have just arrived back from overseas but was following the scores of the game. That game represented our season. Good luck to Carolina in the next battle but neither the Cards or Panthers were convincing. One team will make the big dance but I think it is the AFC's again and sadly it is probably the Pats. As much as I hate to admit it, I would like a Cards vs Patriots final.

A reflection on the season:

Pros:
- Baldwin and Kearse. In particular Doug. They were never rated but they did a great job, particularly when Graham was injured.
- Rawls. Never thought Lynch could be replaced but the hier apparent is near. I hope Lynch goes one for one more year but the future is exciting at RB if he does give it away as epxected.
- Lockett. Star. Don't need to say anything more.
- The fact we could actually win some games from such poor starts. The team never gives up but playing 1/4 or 1/2 a game is not enough.
- I think given the start to the season, we probably over achieved. But to be a contender, you have to finish top 2, simple as that.
- This was the season we needed. Making the Super Bowl was a great thing two years in a row and you never take it for granted. But we are a team transitioning and Carroll will need to get us back at the top again.

Bad:
- The start to the year. It was awful and it was like we forgot the season started. It cost us in the end.
- The fact we had to chase leads so often. Very rarely did we control a game from start to finish (probably the Bears game was the only one)
- O Line. They did get better in the second half but it was too late. Give Russ the protection, he can do anything.
- Bevell. And his play calling with Graham when he was fit. Diabolical - the sooner he is gone, the better
- Kam. Love the guy but his holdout had a huge role on the team and our record without him spoke volumes. The LOB need to be back together and healthy to keep us in games.
- Carey Williams. What a terrible pickup.
- Missing Ricardo Lockette.

I am still proud of the season because I saw the 'lull' coming but I hope can recover and get back to the big dance next year.

That's a pretty good summation.

I don't think Beast goes again TBH. He looked finished early in the season before he got injured and I think we may move away from being such a heavy run offence. Rawls, C-Mike (if we keep him), Coleman and Jackson should be enough going forward.

The draft is going to be interesting. With the only real weak spot being the o-line and us not having a pick until late in the 1st, I wouldn't be surprised if we trade out of the 1st round.

I felt like at half time it was far from over and I was right. I don't know how you guys think, could be sad you are not at least two super bowls from the past 3 seasons or happy that this team still has a long time as contenders. You guys have a big free agency coming up but the bookends are in place and I admire and swear a lot also at Russell Wilson. That throw to kearse after running back 30 yards. Man! You guys will be in the thick of it again next season and I hope our games stay entertaining.

Yup.

Realistically we were a fantastic DB play on a ball away from back to back. Incredible in today's NFL. Palmer has a season at most in him, the Niners are on Mr Kelly's Wild Ride and the Rams are the Rams whether its at the Coliseum or in St Louis.

Wilson is getting better, if/when Graham gets back we have a nightmare offense with Lockett and Baldwin too. Rawls Royce is the mini Beast...more about the Bennett and Chancellor situations now. I think Kam will be traded this offseason if he holds out again, McCray was almost better down the stretch. Bennett is more problematic.
