Last year at senior level Seedsman was relatively poor.

The larger reason why Seedsman rates as poor in champion data rating points is because he played limited minutes and being listed as a midfielder there is an expectation based on their rating system that they find plenty more ball than Seedman found in 2012 resulting in the "poor" rating.

My view of the 2012 Seedsman was that he was largely poor (at senior level), then good but not great at VFL level. Just limiting this analysis of his game to his games at senior level in 2012 Seedsman really struggled badly with the pace of game. He just felt terribly rushed every time he had it and as a result blundered his ball use badly with his ball use not nearly as smooth as it was at VFL level.

This year fortunately Seedsman has now become more comfortable with the pace of senior footy and is ready to play some quality football off a back flank, pushing up onto a wing. In both NAB cup games it's become incredibly clear that he is now ready to break through and become a part of our best team and a critical component in winning so let's see if he proves my strong suspicions true.

To be honest... This.
The thread title was completely tongue in cheek.

(BTW, nothing wrong with this thread title, just sayin')

The same article said Bacher Houli is Elite ;)

Grain of sea salt

exactly...and the stats say that lewis roberts-thompson for sydney is below average..... obviously champion data doesnt watch grand finals...stats dont measure heart and persistence.

Champion Data also don't rate or have a particularly good way at this stage of evaluating shut down defenders. The stats are most heavily based on how much ball you get and how well you use it. It doesn't take into account how well you held your man or stopped their influence so for the defenders in particular it will always be more those rebounding types they reward as opposed to the elite stoppers.
So they'll give Scott Thompson (who got 13 goals kicked on him by Franklin) and Michael Johnson (not even a key defender) positions ahead of Luke McPharlin and Darren Glass who are clearly better footballers and had more productive 2012 seasons with a similar theme for those smalls + mediums.

As with so many stats champion data's analysis is incomplete and while a great guide and a way to find out the reasons behind what you are seeing in a greater level of detail there is still so much that the stats guys haven't even thought of with so much innovation still to come in the stats side of the AFL over the next 25 years.

The other thing little mentioned with these stat analysis in the AFL in particular. The analysis of what causes wins is also so incomplete. Contested ball is considered that main correlation but it doesn't go deep enough into what are the highest % ways to achieve particular results, particularly ways to stop/beat particular players or particular teams.

There is plenty of stats champion data take that isn't public but still so much they are yet to discover and I'm greatly looking forward to those future statistical innovations to come.

Answer me this?
Why do you feel it necessary to call us "flogs" or any derogatory name for that matter?
If you don't agree, state that you don't agree but name calling is just ****n childish.

yep
if you couldnt decipher that the article was a pure statistical analysis by champ data then you obviously are not that bright
only a total flog would get upset in the manner which you have
hahahaha
who cares man
