Richmond has reacted strongly to last Friday’s disappointing loss to Collingwood by making five changes to its side for Saturday night’s clash against the Western Bulldogs at Telstra Dome.

Ruckman/forward Greg Stafford will miss his second match for the year with a hamstring injury, while Rory Hilton is also a forced omission after sustaining injured ribs.

However, coming into the line up is Martin McGrath, who will make his AFL debut, after he was drafted at No.77 in the 2001 National AFL Draft.

The Tigers have also named Jay Schulz for his second AFL game, after he made his debut in round seven against Essendon. He was the club’s No.1 draft selection last year after he was taken at No.12.

Key playmaker Kane Johnson and veteran Tiger Leon Cameron have both returned from a one-week absence through injury, while Duncan Kellaway will play his second game of the year, after the much respected Tiger has endured a miserable season due to injuries.

Matthew Rogers has been dropped for his first game of the season, while Chris Hyde and Marc Dragicevic have also been omitted

I'm still doubtful on whether Johnson will come up and I doubt he will play.

Good to see McGrath in for his first game and Schulz for what will effectively be his first.

yes but will they play? or will they cop wot the sarg coppd in his first game? 2 mins of game time............

also, im not saying im a fan, but for goodness sakes, i want to know once and for all whether hyde has wot it takes, leave him on the ground the whole time from here on in until rnd 22, then make the FINAL desicion on whether to retain or bott him for good :o

I agree.

What is the point of giving Hyde a spot in the side. Play him for a few minutes a game. He doesn't look to bad than drop him after two games than promote another fringe player and do the same thing with him. Give them a fair dinkum go.

On Rogers I think this wasn't Danny's decision. Just got a feeling that this will be the start of the cleen out. Fingers crossed.

Dont get me wrong I like rogers but his time is over and we cant afford him on the list. Youth is what we need.

I agree with the thoughts on Hyde but i don't think he needs to be guaranteed until round 22. 2 games of at least 80 minutes on the feild will tell us - i think he doesn't have what it takes but how can i be sure.

What i would like to know is what did King do last week that made him keep his spot (even more so as he was a late inclusion). All i saw were two clearances out of the middle late in the game and a hell of a lot of inspid attempts at tackling and having absolutely no physical presence at all.

Hyde never did enough to win a place in the team. Lack of depth an injuries basically meant he was one of the only fit guys around.

As for 'seeing what he can do', we have seen for 3 years at Coburg that he can't hit a target by foot. You don't need to see a guy in the seniors to know he can't cut it in the VFL.

Yes i concede !!!!!!

Johnson and Cameron will both be playing. They dont need fitness tests even so im pretty sure that they will both turn out OK.

I am actually more pleased with this selection than I have been all year. It's good to see Sarge and Marty getting a run; Cameron may be getting a little long in the tooth but is still one of our most intelligent and classy players and maybe he would like one final hurrah against his old time.

Speaking of last hurrah's, maybe this is what it is for Duncan as well. Another player who has been a tremendous servant of the club but who is surely in the twilight.

All I hope is that Marty and Sarge, along with the likes of Rodan and Krak get extended periods in the thick of the action
