im not gonna lie and say im not frustrated because i am but we really need to remember we are a young side we are going to go in and out of games and be patchy

yes we got our ass kicked in the last qtr we need to remember that most of our defenders are injured and if our midfield falls apart our backline gets exposed

yes we wont be a good side until we stop playing players like hislop, white, edwards ect but that will take time we can clean out our whole list

we need a good ruckmen and i think that will hopefully happen at the end of the year. I think everyone would be surprised at how good we will be next year if we can land a quality ruckman! it will make a huge difference

did anyone actually think that we were going to be a really good team this year? we knew this type of thing would happen. i personally though we might finish 12th which we prob will

To be honest they're just about where they should be. All the finals hype was driven by the media and was never on the cards. We're still miles off, but showing signs (obviously last week was not cool) and I'm ok with that.

i understand its frustrating but what really pisses me off is when we win ppl say shit like "Oh nahas im so sorry that i said u were shit i love you, can we get married?" yet when we lose and he didnt play an awesome game its "nahas hes crap trade him, and also trade lids too he has no heart"

Lids needs support on field. we should all be happy he actually wants to stick around at our club even when we are crap coz im telling you now he would make it in any teams starting 22 with ease

It has nothing to do with losing games or giving time to build a side, it's the constant giving up that is just beyond a joke. I flew with others a long way last week to watch a group of paid sportsman not raise an effort and it sounds as though the same happened after 3 qtrs tonight, that's bullshit and even the coach said they gave up last week. It's a constant pattern at this club and even other teams have remarked for a long time about our teams rolling over.

Yep agree with nearly all that, we still a year or 2 away from playing finals footy but the goal is to stay in the 8 year after year once we do get there.
It will transform our side no end if we can get a class ruckman.As it frees up Jack,Vickery & Griff to play in the same forward line! Not to mention first option to Cotch,Dusty etc. at the stoppages.
Hamish McIntosh or Mitch Clarke type is a must & Trengrove to throw down back & pich hit in the ruck would be ideal.If we had those players next year & didnt make the 8 then i would be pissed but never expected it this year.
Making it this year would have been misleading to where we are really at. But the future is bright.

Dimma only has to answer for the last 18 months. Anything else before that is irrelevant. Like i have previously posted, after this season, he will have cleaned out around 80% of the list he inherited. He said he was in it for the long haul. He said it would be tough, and there would be ups and downs, and we would rebuild through kids. He is working with the second youngest list in the AFL. Why have supporters moved the goal posts all of a sudden? And factor in seasoned players are playing fatigued because of the new interchange rule, what do you think is going to happen to 18,19 and 20 y.o. kids? Some are playing injured, others are plain knackered. It literally is that obvious to see. Dimma is staying relatively true to what he said at day one. It's not him that has changed the expecatation.

Sometime during the game the camera flashed to Dimma...

Dimmas face and manner betrayed tension...like he was obviously concerned about not losing and wanting to win the match...like myself...

Now for me that was a worry...expecting a win with the Richmond side picked... ?!?! ...

With the current mantra about club 'growth' and player 'development'...

Dimma you ought to have been fairly relaxed and warm...like myself...in the glow of knowing you had the right 'processes' in place...

Surely a few losses over the season were not going to furrow your brow...

I think after conceeding goal after goal after goal at some stage there is a line in the sand that no matter what team you have selected their performance goes so far below below even his expectation for the team picked, that were NOT following the processes he wanted in place, that they had in place earlier in the game.

The look on his face was exactly what I wanted to see.

Good post. We are in the 2nd year of 3-0-75. That plan was aimed at playing finals in the THIRD year onwards. Can everyone remember how ridiculous it sounded that we would play 3 finals in 5 years? Everyone thought Benny Gale was kidding himself. We were the worst team ever 12 months ago.

We are younger than every club in the league (excluding Gold Coast) We are going to have ups and downs. Last week was unacceptable but there were some good signs from younger players last night (Helbig, Griffiths, Post etc)
