Well we've seen 2 games now, both very different. From this (and the fact its the last game we'll SEE before round 1) i reckon we can have a fair idea what the round 1 side will look like(minus possible suspensions and assuming full team fitness). I for one feel quite confident with it, even though it is going to be a long year seeing if the young KPP's can hack it.

P.Matera A.McDougall R.Jones
D.Chick P.Johnson B.Staker
C.Fletcher D.Kerr A.Embley
N.Nicovski Q.Lynch A.Sampi
D.Wirrpunda D.Glass C.Morrosin

M.Gardiner B.Cousins C.Judd

D.Cox T.Carroll M.Braun J.Wooden

Thats my take. I could not find a spot for Jako personally, and felt bad having to TRY find one. South freo for a few weeks to prove he still has it. Few positional changes probable too.

If we had a full compliment of players

F: Matera McDougall Chick
HF: Jones Johnson Staker
C: Judd Fletcher Embley
HB: Hunter Lynch Wirrpunda
B: Sampi Glass Selwood

R: Gardiner Cousins Kerr

Cox Braun Morrison Gaspar

Our spine is looking a lot better than last season and after tonights game I couldn't find a spot for Jako either. I would tend to give Hansen a go before I considered Jako.

If everyone was available....

Wirrpunda Glass Chick
Morrison Lynch Hunter
Embley Kerr Judd
Staker Johnson Jones
Matera McDougall Sampi

Gardiner Cousins Fletcher

Cox Jakovich Braun Banfield

Kerr of course wont be there round 1 so move Braun onto the field and bring in Chambers or Humm to the bench.

Dare I say it... I think we missed Wooden and Carroll last night. They have to be in the team for round one. Staker isn't in our best team atm, at least not on last nights performance.

Anyone know whats wrong with Selwood?

Just quietly it depends on what you want.

If you eventually want to add a third premiership flag ....Staker ahead of Carroll, if you after the best win/loss ratio in 2004 play Carroll ahead of Staker.

2004 - play the young (and Jako ....go the BOG)

Maybe so but last night Staker was ducking his head, jumping over the top, and getting out the way of a contest any which way he could. That has to be taken out of his game pronto.

with all players available.

P.Matera McDougall Sampi
Chick Gasper Jones
Embley Kerr Judd
Hunter Lynch Staker/morrison
Banfield Glass Wirrapunda

Gardiner Cousins Fletcher

int braun, johnson, cox, morrison/staker.

I noticed you both left our Banners?

I think you will find Banners caught out due to lack of pace this year. I also noticed that you don't think a fit Gaspar would get a game.

he would, but not round 1 if he was fit by then. Glass however, if fit, would come straight in IMO

The GOOD thing about Gaspar is with the side i posted, it would be a BONUS but not a necessity for him to be fit as i think the spine i named could eventually hold its own and more eventually, so being able to add Gaspar in rather than having to worry about him not making it is better.

Banners isnt in my first 22, correct Jod. My opinion, dont think hes good enough but id happily be proved wrong.

Banfields apparent lack of pace IMO is a myth. He can get it done and despite what other think, I believe he will be a constant fixture in our 22 this year. I left out Gaspar I suppose by mistake, he is my first option at CHF but even in these "everyone fit" sides....you forget about him because he is NEVER fit!

...I agree and I think I know just the bloke to give him the lesson ....cant remember his name, works at Marlow's, big chest ...Don somebody?

Dont forget you can teach a pedigree to do tricks a lot easier than you can teach a mongrel to be a pedigree.

Haven't seen either of Hunter or Collica this pre-season, i'm assuming that they're both injured.

I'd tend to prefer Collica over Staker in defence at this stage, they're similar type players but i just think Collica has a better footy brain and toughness.

No room for Banners or Jako in my book, time to move on.

My defensive structure:

HB: Hunter Lynch Collica
FB: Wirrapunda Glass Morrison

Hunter is still injured and probably wont play the remaining 2 pre-season scratch matches. Collica is going to be ready by next week - unsure if he will line up for us or East Fremantle.
