You see an occasional game and become an expert! Dingoes game plan didnt work against Chelsea, probably didnt against St Pauls but the kids are getting better all the time.

Very good yesterday against a team that had beaten City and EB.

4 Wins from 6 Games, not too bad. We will take a few more scalps this year. Who do you follow Football Great? At least i support my club, maybe a little over the top sometimes but stiff.

Cheltenham didn't beat EB they got touched up by 74 points

Cheltenham are vey inconsistent this year. Missing players who left just before the season! Too slow, and with a few leaving after last year, really need there coach to lift them week in week out! Ant Symes will be a welcome addition into the side which I hope will life them, but after following there results in the herald sun, beating st.kilda city, then losing on the weekend they have a lot to improve on!

Noticed St Pauls struggled to field a reserves. Any reason they are so short of players. big names like Rafferty etc have disappeared.

Still they are 4 - 2

Due to a few injuries from the seniors, in addition to some injuries also in the reserves.

Will make the finals no problems and challenge for the flag as usual.

A few corrections...
- Lost to EB by 43 points after being down by 41 at 1/4 time.
- No players left just before the season.
- Certainly not too slow, we are probably one of the quicker sides in the comp, just nowhere near as quick as Dingley (who are lightning).
- Outside of a few old heads, we are very, very young and inconsistent results occur with young sides. Lost two extremely important players early on Saturday which hurt and we might have struggled with being the 'hunted' rather than the 'hunter'.

Super, how was the player that got taken by Ambulance? Bones was saying that it was a broken leg, i hope not.

With him, I think the result may have been different.

Sorry had the result wrong it was 44 points. The Vampires took the foot off the pedal in the last quarter and allowed 6 straight so the Rosellas ended with 11 goals 2 behinds. Should have been trashed by 12 goals

Must be said though the Cheltenham unit are a much better team than the 2010 version. Last year they were top heavy and slow. I'm tipping they'll make the finals and tip Dingley out. Top 5 to be CH, EB, StK, St.P and Chelt

Pretty sure the margin was never over 10 goals, goal for goal in the last qtr, but that is superfluous. The end result is all that counts. EB are clearly the best side we have seen this year.

Cheltenham 1 0 5 1 5 1 11 2 68
East Brighton 7 4 10 7 13 14 16 16 112

It should have been over 10 goals Chelt got some easy goals in the last Q
Plus some very poor kicking for goal by Easts

Severe bone bruising, no crack in the shin. Yeah, I'd say him going off was the difference. Very good player

I was interested to see a former Ressie league BF winner strutt his stuff in the seniors he struggled big time, and you just wonder from what i saw in the 2's there would be someone ahead of him[/quote]

who would be ahead of him? there twos are a young side!

super is there any other blokes who can slot into your side??

Q&A time huh.... ;)

- Ben Fahey was the player who went to hospital.
- Last season we started 0-5 playing the top 5 sides. This year we were 3-2 playing the top 5. We are a young side on the most part and need to be switched on every week (as the weekend showed).
- Finals? Long, long way off. Can't take anything for granted in this comp or you'll get burned.
- Of last years reserves premiership side, 12 have played basically every game in the seniors so far this year. Add in three more who were in the colts last year and we have done a good job of regenerating from within.
- On the reserves, yep we are very young. The most we have had in one week is three premiership players in the team. The oldest player most weeks is 25 and the rest are 21 or younger. Great for the future of the club.
- There are at least half a dozen blokes (all under 22) who have been banging the door down in the reserves and deserve their chance at senior level, but it is hard to make wholesale changes to a winning side. Their time will come though.

Hope that answers a few questions. Its amazing what an upset loss will do on here, everyone starts asking questions and finding holes. Just a week ago we were world beaters! How times can change in the footy world.

While I'm on here I will chuck this out there...
WANTED: As a club we are looking for a business partner to help with the cost of manufacturing a set of clash jumpers. Great advertising opportunity for a business to get onboard with a good local club. These jumpers will be worn for ALL away games, so great scope for promotion of your business! Contact the club for details.

What teams do Cheltenham clash with & what would the design look like? Is it a sign of the times to have a clash strip? Just interested, good idea anyhow.

In Div 2 we clash with 2 or 3 teams & the league gave us a feminine turquoise coloured jumper against Highett, maybe we should invest in the idea as well.

We clash with Dingley (we wore an old set of Yellow Colts training jumpers on the weekend as the SFL set were massive in sizes) and you could argue St Kilda City (similar style, only one color different). Most clubs in Div 1 have dark jumpers so it would be a light color, most likely yellow or white based.
We have quite a few options that we could use from a historical standpoint with versions that the club wore in the early 1900's. We don't want to stray to far from our heritage so new colors (other than white) and radical patterns are out of the question.

Ah yes silly me:eek:

Yeah the set the league gave us were mostly XXL's (almost a dress) & XL's with a few Larges. Too bad if you're not a big team. Then there was the issue with personal jumper numbers. The way it worked was the lower the number the larger the size.

Having your own clash strip would eradicate these small match day problems

good to see you are looking to promote your younger blokes!
i noticed a couple of blokes who started in your ones round one played in your 2s on the weekend hopefully they are pointing your younger fellas in the right direction! :)

Just posing a question has the comp dropped off after looking at the results of this season.

TM 25 v CH 247
CLT 16 v EB 149
STK 140 v MRD 51
HTN 31 v ST P 158

They are huge margins and a real worry for the SFL board.

The exception was Chelt v Ding

Any thoughts.

Yes it is a very uneven comp at the moment there are the top 4 then ding and chelt in the middle then the bottom 4 which are not up to it

Chelt and Ding might beat one or two of the top teams but will not be there at the end of the season
But they could be better next year as they say they are young

Big test this week to see how good EB are vs StK

The rest will have very easy wins again

When you look at CLTs team they have some top players, but they must be too old now as on paper they shouldn't be getting beat by 133pts

Yes...12 Senior players playing in last years Premiership side....

Had the seniors and reserves been both playing on that day, only three players that played in the reserves premiership side would have been a chance to play in the seniors. Two were players who qualified under the under 19 rule and the other was a player who missed large chunks of the season with injury. So 12 senior players hey....
