Any one from Dingley care to explain when your 7 goals down at 3/4 time, you play a 5 man forward all of the last quater, just dumb coaching, this left a 6 - 5 situation and Chelts #17 was left to dictate the state of play.

In a season ending game the Dingoes played 2 behind the ball at all times you know you have to actually kick goals to win games.

It seems as though they appointed a coach based on his playing record not his coaching record.

That is All

They started the game with two loose back inside our forward 50. Very odd, but did catch us a bit off guard to start with but they persisted with playing eight defenders. We were just a whole lot better with our ball use than what we have been for the past five weeks.
They (Dingley) have plenty of good young kids, so i'd expect in 2012 they will play finals. Just need a big bloke down forward to kick to and they will take that next step. They certainly are on the right track with their club list though. Plenty of promise.

What a load of Cr @p they were soft as butter and played into Chelts hands.

Everyone of there 5'5 players are carrying to much beef around their thighs and rear end did these blokes do any running in pre-season.

Number 19, needed to call a cab just to get around the ground, seriously he shouldn't be playing senior div 1 footy it's an inditement on the comp.

I understand where you are coming from mate, but I wasn't referring to the result yesterday more what they have in terms of their entire playing list.
They have plenty of good kids in the reserves and I'd suggest they would have only had 7 blokes over 25 years old in the seniors (same as us).
They certainly have some talent amongst their kids, but they probably aren't ready to play consistent senior footy week in and week out, and when challenged physically can make mistakes and seem a bit overawed, like they were for the first three quarters yesterday.
At one stage the margin was 10+ goals but they kicked the last three goals of the 3rd and 4th quarters to fight back to regain some respectability when it easily could have gone the other way and gotten really ugly. That takes a bit of heart and it was mostly their kids leading the way.

Yeah they do have a few 5'5 stocky blokes, but most of those are their older brigade who are at least trying to take some of the physical heat of their younger, physically immature teammates. I thought that #9 Morwood (coaches son) was very, very impressive for his age. Has a great left foot, good speed and used the ball very well.

The big fella at CHB had a shocker but in our last meeting, he was pretty good and one of the main reasons they got the 4 points.

In terms of their game plan, yes it was defensive, but it was different to anything that we have seen this year. They played a zone. No other teams do that. With the coach only in his first year, it takes times perfecting such a game plan. I'd expect if they continue with it next year, and with more practice, get better at it, it will become very difficult for opposing teams to work their way through. Yesterday it had far too many holes and our ball use was very good.

Just my 2 cents!

so who does everyone think would be leading the ones and twos league best and fairests??

Would be very hard to Judge..

You could go off the amount of times players are in the best but thats just a clubs opinion and not necessarily the umpires view.

But in the ones in no particular order.

Ezra Poyas - St Kilda City
Adam McIntyre - St Pauls
Steven Murphy - Chelsea Heights

In the two's.

John Camfield - St Pauls
Robert De Haan - St Kilda City
Andrew Ritchie - Chelsea Heights

Shooting in the dark really..?

We certainly arent finishing the season as we would have hoped.

I think you are right Super, it isnt the game plan that is letting us down it is the execution. We need greater skill with the ball and we need a target!

Possible League B+F Leaders

Williamson (East Brighton) - Gets a heap of it, and would no doubt be noticed. Has proven to get umpire votes over the last 2 years

Brown (Chelt) - Although hie season was cut short, all reports out of Chelt was that the majority games he played he was in the best 2 or 3 on the ground. And would be recognised by the umpires.

Poyas (City) - Had a very good year, and has the ability to kick 3-4 in a quarter

McIntyre (St. Pauls) - Very, very good start to the year. May get a lot of votes early.

Out of interest Mahalo, what ever happened to Mimo? I know he has his critics, but he would have been a handy big target that the Dingoes desperately need. Would create a contest up forward at the very least.

Big Mimo, what a story. B2B warned us that he would let us down, we should have listened.

The Dingoes overlooked a big CHF and signed Mimo. The CHF is cutting VAFA B Grade to pieces and would have been enormous for our club, bad mistake.

Back to Mimo. After the 1st Chelt game that we won by a couple of points, Mimo was telling everyone that bothered to listen that Dingley was the club that he was going to play his days out at. He said he loved the culture and the number of kids coming through. Basically, from that day to this he has not been back. He hasnt returned calls, emails or carrier pigeon. He hasnt got the guts to front the club to explain what happened.

I cannot remember a more dissappointing recruit. Live and learn!!!

Thanks for the honest reply Mahalo. Very disappointing in regards to Mimo. Good luck for the rest of the season.

You will be able to speak to Mimo on the 29th August 2011 at Springers Leasure Centre. Go there approximately 6 - 6.30.

No fair SuperFreak. I posted those sentiments back in the first half of the season - don't rain on my parade!! ;-)

For those Clayton boys who got a bit precious last week, a bit of an update after seeing TM for a quarter of the magoos and all bar the last five minutes of the seniors.

I don't think there's any doubt that TM probably do, if the list on the day was anything to go by, drop down to Division Two, however, if they satisfy the criterion to stay in Division One, then they should be allowed to do so.

Personally, I think they just didn't have the cattle to compete with CH after the first three minutes. Their twos had 16-17 (I think one or two CH boys were in TM jerseys from what I could see - did TM have injuries earlier in the game?) and they just didn't present like a Division One club (in my opinion) should.

No doubt TM will reassess at the end of the year. Won't be an easy time for them but I am sure they will bounce back, regardless of their division.

Will miss the CH-Clayton clash this weekend, and I don't think I will be able to make any games until Preliminary Final weekend if my work schedule reads right, but as of now, if TM can beat Clayton, one can only shudder at what the score could be in the Clayton match this weekend.

Hope I am wrong though. Those results don't do anyone any good.

Neither can at least 12 other clubs. Lets have some trivia. Name the clubs he has disappointed.

For such a big and strong unit he has the heart the size of a split pea with a grub in it. Rogerson towelled him up when it counted in the 2008 GF and where did he go? 3rd Divvy. Say no more not up to it. Dingley were lucky he didn't play, hopefully he didn't get any coin. Built like Tarzan played like Jane.

In 2007 pretty much unstoppable at chf kicked 3 in winning grand final.
2008 had a bad game but wasn't alone
2009 played a role in the first 1.5 quarters in the ruck which kicked started city.
I'm not a Mimo fan but at least have some fact about what you write dont just write what sounds good or makes someone look bad

so that will be the 5 St Kilda City,East Brighton, Chelsea Heights then St Pauls , Cheltenham then gap

yeh got that wrong

Well we know now that chelt and Dingley will only make up the numbers both are no good lol
the rest won very easy and chelt you have to have a good look at yourselves that was shxt

my early tip now is East Brighton but we will know more in the coming weeks

So hoping the clubs that are down now can turn it around and make it a stronger comp in the coming years. All the lower teams should be starting to plan for next year now.

Well I do think I got it right

Pretty easy to pick a ladder after 5-6 rounds when things have sorted themselves out.

I applaud you for having a go though and trying to get some footy talk on here.

As for what I thought (don't think I posted it on here though), some right, some very wrong:

- I had St Pauls 5th-6th (based on PM's I saw)
- Chelsea Heights I thought would be 1st or 2nd (can still finish there!)
- Thought Clayton would be 6th-7th. Couldn't see them being where they are.
- As for us, I thought we would be better than most thought. 4th or 5th was about right.

Ladder was something like...

Chelsea
East
City
Chelt
St Pauls
Clayton
Mordi
Dingley
Heatherton
TM

From that I only have City right.

Answer EAST BRIGHTON

Saw the Vampires today and have to agree. This side is the best SFL side I've seen since Balwyn left for greener pastures. Very young fast and fit. May as well hand over the cup, flags and medals.
Congratulations to East Brighton on season 2011, a marvelous year from a powerful club....
September will be a mere formality.
