i like shannon's pace and take em on style but missing set shots on your kicking side from around 30-40 metres out in this day and age is disgaceful.


will he get traded at seasons end though??

he has value and he only plays well when the whole team is playing well. he doesnt step up when the game is on the line, he has some friends but yesterdays two shots are still etched in the memory.

Yep, Byrnes does need work on his kicking, like the rest of the boys. Chappy missed an easy one in the third too. Wouldn't surprise me if Byrnes did get traded by the club at the end of the year as I was shocked Thurley went last year! Nothing surprises me anymore with the GFC!

the only comedy about shannon (apart from being the reincarnation of hungry kevin bartlett) is that he is a dead certainty from 50m out on the run but the set shot inside 50m is too close.

where does geelong find these guys that cant convert inside 50m from set shots??

rattle them off - kinglsey, gardiner, byrnes, playfair (though he has really improved), s, johnson.

the only guys that have belief that they can kick are chapman and ablett jnr.

I'm not so sure about jnr's kicking at goal either, yesterday was good but he seems to have a swathe of bags like 1.4 or 1.5.

Didn't he kick a SUPER goal in the NAB cup? He has talent... just needs to practice his kicking more. His a good player for the cats.

one super goal in the nab cup dont make him a great or even standard player. look at the lumbering spencer, he was getting a gig in the nab cup and looking alright.

Not to mention he fails to pick the right option time after time. Runs too far and flubbs the kick at least once a week.
