Where is he at?? Really is struggling with the forward tag yet again.

Does he need to play on the wing or the forward flank??

It's certainly been a concern for a period of time now. Half forward, maybe. He's just so damaging if he's rebounding.

He is really damaging, but so far this season he is only getting the ball 14 times, and from what I've seen hasn't had alot of of influence on games. In saying that then whole team is struggling so not really fair on singling him out.

then stop being unfair

He's certainly our best candidate for a worthwhile trade. Doubting whether he'll meet his potential at the Eagles, too easily taken out of the game as he's very one-dimensional. He needs to provide more run and link up with the midfield, the odd spearing pass is not enough of an impact for a player of his quality.

Wish we had taken Birchall instead or kept Stevenson, as this is the type of HBF we need.

Hurn + 1st rounder for Hartlett ;)

our most dissapointing player as he has so much potential, but doesnt wanna push himself to the next level

Scuse my ignorance but I cannot recall him playing anywhere but HBF and yes obviously all the teams know to tag him.

Can he not play any other roles? Certainly could change things up if you put him at HFF but need to replace him with another rebounder... and that could be the real problem.

I say we trade him. He's had soooo much time to stamp himself on the competition but just refuses to take that next step in his game. Completely dies when he gets tagged. And when he ISN'T tagged he simply does not want the football enough.

Ease up turbos. Hurn is most definitely a required player. If he is being tagged out of the game, it frees up Waters and Wilson (yes, Wilson) to provide rebound.

Wilson is a sensational kick and his inclusion would offset Hurn being tagged so heavily.

Not sure what people expect of Hurn. Every year people want him to "take the next step" but what can he do exactly? He is a damaging kick out of defence with the odd long range goal. That's about it.

thing hurn needs to be chucked into forward of centre. (except for kick ins of course).

hurn should be back to his best soon once the side gets up and going. i know bunga wont disappoint.

we need more out of him. he's such a great user of the footy, but at the moment just not getting enough.

you know why we need to keep him? because when he gets the ball, we win.

more to the point, when he is kicking the ball we win.

when he has 15 kicks in a game we are:

2013 - 0/1
2012 - 9/12
2011 - 10/10
2010 - 2/6
2009 - 4/7
2008 - 0/0
2007 - 0/0
2006 - 1/1

http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/S/Shannon_Hurn.html

that's 26/37, 70% win rate, we are 39 from 90 (43%) in games hurn has played but hasn't got 15 kicks

you could say equally that means he is a downhill skier but i think with hurn we all know how much more dangerous where are when he is getting boot to ball and that is why opposition teams target him so much

has probably been slightly disappointing, he should've been a real contendor for an AA jersey or two by now, but at 25 there is still time for him to fulfil that talent.

You'd think it would be a good move - if that leg of his scares opposition coaches coming out of half-back, having it stand on the fifty meter arc will give them grey hairs
