Not sure if this has been brought up before... but I haven't seen him play a game where he has more decent kicks then clangers.

I know he is only young but there looks like there is something fundamentally wrong with his game that when ever he gets the ball he seems to freeze and not know what to do with it and then rushes and turns it over. And i can understand if he did this occasionally as he is only young but its all the time and he was a top 20 pick in the draft.

It looks like he is a decent kick when he was plenty of time but do you guys think he is ready for the intensity of the real stuff.

I hope he can make it at the highest level as he is a good size for defensive runner and ball carrier as well as doing a defensive job on a medium forward.

Whats everyone else's thoughts?

Once he gets the wobbles out of his game he will be fine. Has a seriously good left foot.

Agree.....all his clangers have happenned when they have managed to lay a hand on him as he is kicking.

Just finding the pace of the game.....needs to put the accelerator down an little earlier thats all.

When not being tackled he uses it really well

Grigg will be fine, his kicking whilst can be wayward at times it is still fairly good. He played more as HFF / on-baller at TAC Cup level, he will learn more in defence where he doesnt have to find the ball if he wa splaying as a HFF / on-baller.

Playing down back with flooding tactics being employed by most clubs backmen can chalk up stats a lot easier. This can benefit him in teh short term whilst he is still cutting his teeth at this level.

grigga will be much better with hes disposal if he didnt panic with the ball... just young and inexperienced will get much better with confidence on the field... i did happen to notice bower seems to really hold the ball up when he has it ... has never got it away quick enough for my liking gives the opposition way to much time to get around to there men ......

Wonder if most of his disposal problems are due to not being confident enough to kick on his right foot. Get really frustrated to see modern players who are not proficient on both sides of their body.

I'd like to see him move to the wing and told to take them on.

I'm sick of seeing wingman and midfielders being developed by being played as defenders.

He showed good acceleration when he took off from the wing on Thursday night, but he kicked poorly when he didn't have many options up forward.

He also needs to harden the **** up!

No question.

I agree with this. To me Grigg looks uninterested.

Definitely. At the moment, he shouldn't be in the 22 - I think both Armfield and Pfeiffer would do better in that small/medium defensive role, and both attack the ball very well, whereas Grigg looks very tentative. Let him develop in the 2's - he is only just coming into his second year and clearly isn't ready yet.

Have to agree with what everyone has said here, he looks tentative and unsure what he's doing, develop him in the twos and let Pfeiffer or Armfield play that role.
