A solid 2nd tier midfield group is imperative to any premiership aspiring team. These are the guys that aren't necessarily stars and are often overshadowed by the more media-hyped guns in any midfield, but are capable of providing 150+ games of quality service to their football club.

This is what I see in Grigg. He'll probably never be a star, and he'll always be in the shadow of the likes of Judd, Murph, Gibbs etc., but that won't stop him from being a very good player for the Carlton Football Club over a long period of time. He's got all that a player needs to become a very long term midfield player.

If the 2nd tier of out midfield is headed by the likes of a mature Grigg in a few years time, then this footy club is well and truly heading in the right direction.

Nice one, J. But I think he'll go a tier higher than you predict. I just like everything about him. Already it seems like an age since his first few games where he ran on, was run down, run over and run off again. He's fast establishing himself now as a vital utility for us. Go the Grigga. :thumbsu:

Shapes as a big bodied, defensive midfielder, which is good because this will compliment the inside of Judd and Gibbs, the predator of Murphy, and the outside of Stevens.

Still, would love to have one true hard-nosed extractor so we don't run Judd and Gibbs into the ground (and I don't rate Bentick), and another absolute class runner (because I think Simpson's kicking is suspect at best and fans tend to overrate him - his kicking makes him a 7/10 not an 8/10).

Maybe Hadley if we are lucky becomes the hard man in the middle, and Walker the runner, although Walker would want to keep working on his kicking.

I can just see it now; "...picked up by Judd's small intestine who passes it to Gibbs' liver, spluttered out to Judd's left lung who sends a perfect pass straight into the chest of Stevens' hollow hide". "Unfortunately Murphy has just given away a free kick for biting a hole out of Thomas' leg which had been smeared with Gibbs' blood".
