A solid 2nd tier midfield group is imperative to any premiership aspiring team. These are the guys that aren't necessarily stars and are often overshadowed by the more media-hyped guns in any midfield, but are capable of providing 150+ games of quality service to their football club.
This is what I see in Grigg. He'll probably never be a star, and he'll always be in the shadow of the likes of Judd, Murph, Gibbs etc., but that won't stop him from being a very good player for the Carlton Football Club over a long period of time. He's got all that a player needs to become a very long term midfield player.
If the 2nd tier of out midfield is headed by the likes of a mature Grigg in a few years time, then this footy club is well and truly heading in the right direction.
