I expected some inconsistency from the Crows, and I can accept the Crows wiining only three of the four quarters against the Bulldogs - but that third term was a shocker.

Need to be able to stop the rot better than that. Not good enough by a long way.

Great football by the Bulldogs though.

Agreed, that third term was the worst i've seen since last years infamous Brisbane game. Adelaide never looked like doing anything for that quarter and full credit to the Bulldogs.

Hopefully Adelaide can put their heads down and surprise the Kangaroos next week.

I believe so, but by then, it was too painful to watch, oh well, but was quite a big loss, oh well, theres goes the great percentage we had before the game.

Yes, by 3 points.

That was barely where the game was won or lost though.

That would be as poor a quarter as the club has ever played IMO. They embarrassed and disgraced themselves in that quarter.

We were smashed in the mid-field and the coaching staff didn't seem to make any changes to stop the flood.

Too many non-tryers and non-thinkers in that 3rd quarter. Happy to chase arse.

Could Craig have at least thrown Hudson or Biglands to the goalsquare to provide a skerrick of a matchup for Darcy when they began their run early in the third?

It was painful to watch. All the Dogs had to do was lob it in and the Doggies' captain was guaranteed of a mark or a freekick, and Rutten was powerless to stop it through no fault of his own. We were getting killed in the ruck and at the stoppages anyway, so if ever Noah Craig was going to launch the ark and baton the hatches this was it.

Alas, it just rained dogs.

Still some good signs from you blokes in the first half....and you never quit in the last quarter. The gameplan you have is gonna be hit and miss. Probably would have got more people in the middle third of the ground instead of heaps in the Bulldogs attacking 50.

Your run comes to an end but you still kicked a score that would win a lot of games!

All I got to say is Will Minson take a bow. He put the whole side on his shoulders in that 3rd quarter and he led the way. He tore our ruckmen a new one.

Coaching wasn't much chop tonight either.

Darren Jarman vs Jamie Shanahan
Matthew Robran vs Rohan Smith
Shane Woewodin vs Martin Mattner
Luke Darcy vs Ben Rutten

There's a Skybox 'Marquee Matchups' insert set in this for us...

No excuses for an effort like that against an average team - no disrespect meant to the Dogs - they were great - but we should have performed a lot better and should have found ways to stem the tide.

You're right of course, and I've made this comment elsewhere. Hudson, who's far more mobile probably was the man to go there.

Also our structure in the centre square was a disaster - we just left an open road to the Bullies goal instead of setting up so that they couldn't.

Shades of Adolf Ayres tonight. 3/10 for Craig and his band of merry men.

Eade or Craig??? Eade won it hands down tonight!!

I just couldnt believe they left roo at ff for as long as they did in the third, the ball couldnt even get down there just thought it was a waste.

I agree with McDermott's assessment that defensively Adelaide's midfield struggle, too busy worrying about getting a possession and not about what their opponents are doing especially the tide is against us and we werent winning the ball we just let them have space to easily run the ball out of centre !!!!!!!!!!!

it was painful to listen to but interesting to note from the 3aw call that there was no accountability from both midfields according to them from the start. For those of you that are bagging macca for not chasing his man I have to say that the our midfield player (even if he wasn't there for most of it in the third) is our captain - he has rarely ever chased his man and this is something that has made me wanna run out onto the field and slap him for! If the captain doesn't do it I have often wondered what affect this has on the rest of the team?

The bullies played well from the start, they just couldn't convert. Football is a funny game when things finally start falling into place the run started.

But a great kick in the pants and I look forward to the response next week as it will be a very tough game

(on the plus side port lost) :)
