Shot Accuracy

The Swans have been apsolute sit in this area all year and it is costing us games. Currently in the 3rd quarter the Swans have had 4 shots on goal and kicked 4 behinds while the Bulldogs have had 1 shot on goal and kicked 1 goal. Even though the Swans are playing better we are still losing the quarter due to our woeful accuracy.

Its time they improved. They are professional sportsmen and they goal kicking is one of the most important skills a player can have.

the four games before this one we'd kicked 40 goals 59 behinds, and 18.13 was against carlton
since our 05 permiership, when accuracy was one of our great strengths, we've been rubbish and it hurts every week

Yup, same old story. We were all over the Dogs in that quarter and only made up 8 points. It's all about scoreboard pressure and we don't put any on.

Hall hasn't been able to kick straight since the '06 GF. In fact that was the start of the shit form he's been in since. sorry I'm in a really pissed mood right now but I don't think he's worth his spot in the team right now and I think his future has a big question mark over it.

Our kicking for goal pisses me off more than anything else.

As soon as Ted Richards played on and hit the post (our 2nd poster in a few minutes) mid way through the 1st quarter i just new we were in serious trouble

I can see Pat taking that spot up until he seasons himself for full time in the midfield, but he'd have to improve on his set shot accuracy. I just can't get over him, so you will see me giving him massive wraps at all times. Nobody complain, k?

... I had a coach... ex great... who although I was one of the"best kicks" in the team and would win any training Shot at goal comp drill" really suffered under game pressure

... His solution was to run me to utter exhaustion..... pre arranged with team the moment the his secret whistle blows (think it was sos morse)

the whole team would harrass me .. absolutely spent under pressure.... screaming and taunting with coach creaming "Corp" (obviously not real name ) kick it quick kick it!!! now!

He had taunted me prior to training infront of all the side and

JESUS H CHRIST did I learn how to kick under pressure!!!



Many of our love Swans adopt a different kicking style and "choke"... they would be better to relax learn the basics perfect a technique under pressure that can be repeated!!!!!


No good AT ALL ! having 1 million shots at goal at training (if you don't try to replicate game pressure or exhaustion )or get a set relaxed repeatable routine!!!!

I posted that more than a year ago. And the Swans goal kicking accuracy appears to have improved at about the same rate as my woeful photoshop skills.

That explains our inability to kick winning scores.

The irony is that we've always lacked enough scoreboard pressure from our midfielders in recent years, whilst relying too heavily on our key forwards. But now we're starting to look a bit like West Coast in that we're relying too heavily on our smalls and mids, and no one is really standing up as a target for us up forward.

Macca's return is sensational. And Mol's return is pretty good if he wasn't the main hit up player for us. He's just ploughing along as normal.

What those figures hide of course is the amount of set shots we've wasted. Some names on that list should have been sitting 10 goals higher this season considering the chances they've had. And that's probably been the difference in about 4 games this year.

We lost all those games with those scores except for Round 12 (against St.Kilda). Proves just how much of a difference Accuracy makes. If we had won a couple of those games, and we should of won the Adelaide and the Rd.1 Stkilda Clash if we had any sort of kicking boots on, our place in the top 4 would be a lot more secure.

6.14, 6.13 and 6.17 in 3 games is simply unacceptable. Make them 12.8, 9.10 and 11.12 and we win all three of them, just with an average conversion rate. Simple as that really.
