It's a very important game for the club for many reasons.

No he shouldn't be suspended.

"It shouldn't matter that it's an important game" I hear you say.

If it was Grand Final week would you still suspend him? No, of course not.

We suspended him late last year to teach him a lesson. It hasn't worked, and we wouldn't have suspended him if we needed to win that game to keep in touch or a game inside the top 8.

It notonly penalises Fev, but itpenalises the club, and it penalises me and you.......and clearly from last year we can see that suspending Fev doesn't change his behaviour.

Fev needs:
  • 10 pm curfew other than for October holidays
  • $10,000 fine each time he breaks it, going up $5,000 for subsequent offences. Fine money to be donated to a related charity.......uirantors annonymous or something
  • Community work. He is great with kids. Needs to get out there and lead by example, talk to them about doing the wrong thing and why you can't get away with it.
P.S. Carro should be sent to gaol for drink driving.:thumbsu:

How's that anti-social personality disorder working out for you???

Ok, it was 4am, but how would you feel if your wife or kids were sitting in the window?

As Kramer1 so eloquently said in another thread, it is a dog act :thumbsu:

Victimless crime really - a bit dirty but it's not like he knocked someone out or stole something or ended up in handcuffs. That sort of thing happens in every city every weekend, it's just that it doesn't end up in the news unless you're famous.

And yeah if I had kids and they were sitting in a nightclub at 4am I'd be very concerned.....;)

No he shouldn't. It sh!ts me because I desperately want to win but let's face it, he's the biggest tool going around. What else can we do to get it through is thick head?

We can't leave this week and suspend him for Round 2, that's not showing enough balls.

I actually agree with a caller on the radio today  Fev should be removed from the leadership group, suspended on Thursday and have to do community service.
I can't see another way. He's loaded so a fine will be nothing to him and the amounts they can fine and nearly big enough for him.

He needs to be humiliated more than he can do himself, which is of a very high standard.

Beat it into his head if required. I'm first in line!

Yes, he should play. If you suspend him, you will hurt the team more than Fevola. Richmond will have a sniff if he's not playing, and they are a greater chance of beating us. And with Fisher out, who will be our focal point up forward? Who will straighten us up? Hartlett?

Fine him and drop him out of the leadership group, and make him apologise to the pub owner. If you drop him, it will only hurt our chances of having a good start. Ratten will want to prove the naysayers wrong and winning is the top priority... as a team we would want to grow in confidence. Because if we lose to the Tigers, there will be no confidence - playing St.Kilda next round will be a lot harder.

an apology from fev means nothing, like it does for most footballers, there is no meaning to it,
to him saying sorry is just something he is 'made' to do

I wanna hook up with Alex Fevola, just to teach Fev a lesson.

*Terrorism Alert*

A cavity search on Alex Fevola has revealed traces of C4. Her husband, AFL footballer Brendan Fevola could not be reached for comment due to window washing commitments. Alex Fevola first came into the public eye due to her on again, off again relationship with her notorious husband. Ironically Brendan Fevola gained his notoriety via an on again, off again liason with model Lara Bingle.

Federal police believe traces of C4 were being transported through Ms Fevola, to her husband, on to Ms Bingle and on to cricketer Michael Clarke. Police are investigating the link between Clarke and the cancellation of the Australian Cricket Team's tour to Pakistan due to threats of terrorism.

Six degrees of separation!!!

2 first rounders ?

at say #14 and #16 ?

So how many games has Hartlett, Edwards, Kruezer played between them? Who will cover Waite if we send him back to the foward line.

These are the questions you have to ask before considering trading Fev. He is vital not just becaue of his match winning ability, but more importantly because we need the time to develop the few choices we have up forward.

Getting rid of Fev will mean we have an young, inexperienced forward line to match our back, and then as with our backline, we will have to wait several years for it to finally become good.

You are over-stating our side greatly if you think we can afford to lose Fev.

If Carlton's midfield dominate, we may still win without the fecking numbnut.

Regarding the dilemma of whether to play him or not.

We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. It really isn't going to matter either way because the haters will hate us anyway.

Do we cut one of our best players to appease the righteous squealers like Caro and co?

Do we play him and cop more abuse for our "kulcha".

I vote for the latter.

1. Carlton will do what's best for the team. Cue more tanking abuse.

2. Carlton don't give a sh1t what people think. Cue more arrogant abuse.

3. It would make the shrill crescendo of hissy fitters even higher pitched, so high they may go beyond the reach of human hearing.

My only concern is the question of is he fit?

Plastered 4 days before a game is not an ideal preparation.

I would rather beat Carlton with Fev playing, cause if we won, all you blokes would use that as your excuse, cause you like to use excuses when you lose!

Or is Archer right, You dont penalise the team just because 1 player stuffed up. To be honest whats he gonna learn if they suspend him. It was a stupid thing but its something you dont really need to learn off.
Archer was the only person other than the coaches who came off the show with any credibility. Eddie with another outlet for his evil ways.
Fev has to play. We have to win. Slap him on the wrist however you want but we need him kicking goals!

Bwahahahahahaha......ROFL..........Gold...............post of the year nominee.:thumbsu:

For 12 months all we have bloody heard is:

"But we didn't have Simmonds, Brown, Coggs........blah blah blah de ****ing blah......."

Do you write your own matierial?:D

Great stuff.:thumbsu:

I would endorse a trade for Fevola, as long as it suited the CFC.

So would I. I was saying this last year, perhaps to get Judd over the line. Given his latest indescretion, I would certainly shop hin around at the end of the year.

Defently if Carlton Wants to lose the game it be on their heads
and if Carlton Wants to Sack Fev I'd hope he makes em pay :)
they be game to

and Yes Fev deserves another go i;d like to know how many other Clubs give there players who had drinking problems chances
least not as bad as the Speeding issue

Don't want to give Richmond any hope of Winning they be thinking were tanking if Carlton suspend fev can;t afford anyone else out

So Fev is out drinking, probably a little late admittably, decides he needs to take a leak and then picks the only restaruant in the whole of Australia that is open or is still occupied to relieve himself. Owner sees him and they have an altercation. Welcome to every Saturday night in Australia where beer is served and men are about. What is so different about this though?, the guy's famous of course.

So the footage is then sent to the police as evidence so they may investigate said incident, ummm no. It is sent to the media, wtf!! This little leach thought he'd get his 15mins of publicity for his restaruant and the media get their own little story out of it.

Footballers are no better than the average person, in fact probably a little more dimwitted on average, as most only know football and aspire to be. Just because they earn money and are in the media's eye, they shouldn't be held up as the gods and role models as they are. They are normal people Whom come from a cross section of society and not everyone is absolutely perfect. People are going to act differently or accordingly due to their upbringing etc. Parents are role models who should be teaching their kids the way of the world and what morals they should live up to. Sure admire them for their footballing ability, but Fev isn't even a good role model to his own kids, why on gods earth would you have your kids listening to anything he has to say. The double standard being here, little Johnny listens and idolizes his favourite rock band, but he knows and his parents know they are bunch of coke heads, but that doesn't seem to matter.

Fev is a bit of a ******** no doubt, but the only reason for the outcry is to appease the PC crew and for the media to run their story and make money. There is a reason why a Current Affair and Today Tonight are so successful. 10 years ago nothing would have been heard of these incidents. The media have created this monster and god forbid if someone transgreces.

A fine or suspension is really not going to work for Fev. If he really does have an issue with alchohol as the media keep reporting, instead of listening to the bleatings from the media and such, the football club should really be helping him through his problems.

Is fining him going to hurt him when the fine can only go up to $5,000? Is dropping him from the leadership group going to hurt him? Maybe a little but knowing Fevola, he'd be over it pretty quickly.

I'd say yes, considering he worked his arse off to even get into the leadership group in the first place. Then there's the addition of the playing group respecting him less, which will no doubt hurt his big ego. BTW, the fine was $10,000 - it probably won't hurt him, but it was required. Hell, suspending him last year didn't hurt him.

What if the Blues leadership group have a rule similar to Melbourne that any player caught out after 1am will be suspended? Should they turn a blind eye to what Fevola has done?

If they did have that rule, then yes, he should be suspended. But that point is moot because no such rule is in place. It is pointless talking hypothetically here - because every circumstance is different and unique. In the case of Fevola, he is arguably our most important player and could be the difference on Thursday night.

How they react to it is how they will be viewed as taking it seriously.

Well the punishment has been set. Not good enough?

No one player is bigger than the club and if the Blues can't afford to suspend one player because they fear losing one or two games then the club has bigger problems than Fevola.

It's more than just "one or two games". These games will set up our entire season... if we lose, our young players might lose their confidence and that is a bad thing. At the end of the day, the priority must be to winning games... we've had enough losing for the past six years and it's time to change. I would say the club would have even bigger problems if they do not do everything they can to get back on the winners list this year.
