He has done bugger all this year except for one mark. I think he is overrated and needs a good stint in the WAFL to get his head in and get some more experience on the ball.

So do you all think its bout time Sampi got sent back to the WAFL?

If we get 4 players back this week I think he would be in trouble.

MacDougall, Cousins, Embley and Hansen pick themselves, I'd say Sampi would be in line to be one of those having to make way for the cream.

Yeah he needs to be dropped. He is just coasting along at the moment, needs to pull his finger out and realise the god-given talent he has and how to make most use of it.

we need him against the bulldogs :)

Going with past history his going to be the match winner

On current form we'll pump them either way.

Sampi atm is in the side only because of his talent, granted a stint in the WAFL is probably what he needs similar to Wirra.

I reckon we should give him a run in the midfield this wk get him a few touches early maybe he can find some form.

Even if we didn't get the four guys back i think it would be better for us long term to send Sampi back.

He's enormously talented, but just isn't having the impact he had last year.

Yes, he deserves to be dropped this week, assuming we have another player in better form who deserves his place or another that we need on match-ups.

It would hurt West Perth, but Chambers deserves a recall.

Whose place would Chambers take?

It's pretty obvious that Cousins and Embley won't be playing. As for Sampi, after his good game against Essendon (have you forgot it?) he said the pressure of maybe being dropped gave him the incentive to pull his finger out, thats a shocking attitude. He should play that way every week. Dropped, bring in Chambers.

Play the boy in the guts. Too much talent and football smarts to be wasted in a forward pocket opposite the best small forward of recent years.

Problem is our gut is pretty much full already.

he doesn't have the stamina to play in the middle.

apparently sumich blew the wind up sampi a couple of weeks back. he wasn't impressed with his efforts at all. i'd send him back to the seconds until he starts to play well again.

Yes, Sampi should be dropped at this stage. He just isn't putting in too often.

Obviously if Cuz is available he's the obvious swap, but given he isn't I'd throw out one from leftfield: if either Rudeforth or Edwards are likely to stay with the club next year, promote them now for Gaspar and see how they go (lets admit it, we all know that "indefinite" against Gassy in the injury list means he won't play again this year). There wouldn't be a better week to throw in another rookie.

Sampi seems to me as being one of the guys that performs alot better at Subi. Tough to drop a guy who shows something every 2nd week. I thought he looks pretty good against the Dons.

I know it sounds bitter as a Dogs fan but do you guys think maybe it's unhealthy how much praise he has been given for his match winning goals? Against us in round 1 he was lazy as ****, but all was forgotten cause of the goal.

Sorry Rocco but the facts simply dont bear you out! Sampi's home form isn't particularly flash save for the first match of the year. Compare it with Chambers and one scratches one's head to work out why the latter gets to refresh himself in the WAFL, yet Sampi (whose body shape and general fitness would likely be benefited by some hard work on the ball in the WAFL) keeps getting a game week after week.
Here are the stats for Subi matches this year - Sampi first, Chambers second:
Port Adelaide 14 possessions, 5 goals, Chambers didn't play
Brisbane- 7 possessions, 1 goal; 9 possessions 0 goals
Fremantle - 8 possessions, 3 goals; 14 possessions 0 goals
Sydney - 9 possessions 1 goal; 17 possessions 2 goals
Richmond - 9 possessions 0 goals; 19 possessions 3 goals
Adelaide - Sampi didn't play; 16 possessions 1 goal
Geelong - 8 possessions 1 goal, Chambers didn't play
Essendon - 13 possessions 3 goals, and unless I miss my guess all the good work was done in the first quarter, and then little else for three quarters; chambers didn't play.

Even in the call on the weekend Brereton (I think!) was questioning his output - he seems to get cut quite a bit of extra slack because he was a high draft pick and perhaps as one person put it "we look a lot more dangerous with him in the side". Chambers might not look too dangerous but he gets the pill more often than Sampi (in less game time ), and generally speaking its only when you get the pill that you can do anything dangerous!
Surely a trip to the WAFL could only do Sampi some good - a 20+ possession game plus a serious run around the ground has got to do him more good in the longer term than another ordinary performance in the AFL.

Sampi to me is like Paul Medhurst.

Brilliant at Subi. Should be banned from the airport.

He is a brilliant tallent, and as others said he should be used on the ball.

Hasnt done a whole lot recently and would probably be about time to give him a run in the WAFL. He has so much talent though so dropping him seems wrong, but if he isnt performing then he should make way.

No - he's quick and talented.
Just needs to get his confidence back after his recent run.

nope. He has kicked plenty of goals this year to help the eagles win games.

Good call. Is keeping his place on past efforts and any other side would probably have dropped him. Sampi goes missing when the Eagles do.
