Even the Durdin tackle wasn't bad, he hung on for dear life but Milera flung it out and Wehr was in no man's land kind of heading in but not helping and left Cook too much room and he kicks one with the outside of the right boot that floats through.

Logan Evans definitely could have gotten that Milera handball too :(

Watched the last 2 minutes again (result didn't change), I think Sweet was the only one who thought punching the ball forward was the agreed play at the bounce.

The free to Rankine was soft, all players reaching up for a ball at head height, the contact was incidental.

Good analysis.

Yeah, it's ****ed.

Outside of the game where everyone sledged Rachele for talking shit, what were the other 3 wins? I honestly can't remember.
Covid game in 2020 with no crowd basically.

2021 we won both but nearly lost the second with allir saving our arse.

And Robbie grays farewell.

Maybe it was 7 and 5.

The fact is it’s been 7 of the last 9.

we are nicks bitch lol

As bad as we were in that last minute, don't forget they allowed us to score in the dying stages also.
Aren't they last years minor premiers, there was much more riding on that game for them than us, although we should have won and Carr will be pissed with the last 43 seconds.

Watching last night both SA teams look pretty poor.
I’d say we’d have a better future with the players we are likely to bring in.
As for the Crows I can see them being outside the top 4 and just treading water for some years to come.
100% agree. They are nowhere near winning a flag.

We will never dominate the Crows again like we did in the early 2000's. I miss the days when we actually knew how to play Football.

I don’t know Ford, I think statistics can be somewhat misleading at times. A lot of our possessions, particularly in the 1st half, were lateral kicks across our back half. I don’t mind the patient buildup if it leads to some fast flowing ball movement, but it looked overly static last night. We managed to get a few chains going in the last quarter when the Crows were beginning to fatigue, but it was a hard watch at times.

Needed a lot more run & carry from Farrell, Burgoyne, Richards, Moraes & Mackinlay who all struggled on the night. Wehr managed 528 metres gained, but he wasn’t particularly damaging & offers very little defensively.

The Inside 50s Crows 59 v Port 39 is a good indication of the Crows dominance for most of the contest. If it wasn’t for AAs heroics down back, the game would have been over much earlier.

Over the game, I think they had more of the play, they defended well around the middle of the ground, but I think we were very cautious in just bombing it in a la Hinkley and getting slaughtered on the rebound. So our inside 50 count was down but we nailed targets when we went in.

We've had games where we've dominated inside 50s and lost and get nothing but criticism here for not being efficient enough. They rushed plenty of F50 entries and we defended very well with one genuine tall defender who was the star of the game.

Yes we had players who could have won more of the ball, but so did they. Just on Moraes he had 15 disposals in 50% game time. He's been unfairly singled out a few times now.

I hate losing and I especially hate losing with seconds to go from a winning position. But I think we did a lot right considering the positions of the two teams at the start of the year.

We did enough wrong to lose the game but to come back from a couple of goals down against this mob where we would almost certainly have gone on to lose by 5 goals in previous years gives me hope that the corner is at least there to be turned.

We can again if we draft well and the players we have marked to come in live up to the hype.
The Crows aren’t going to get any better.

I tell you what's the sooner we **** off Wehr the better. Ive seen enough good moments from all the other trade ins. But Wehr is second to the ball constantly, bog average in possession, can't stick a tackle and isnt particularly quick. Give literally anyone else from the sanfl a run pls.

Hard to take a one point loss , at least we couldn’t blame the umps , with these ones we would’ve beaten the Hawks and the Saints at the very least .
I think JHF hurt his back early third quarter which diminished his influence .
Was impressed with Allir , Wines , Sweet , while Marshall was pretty invisible , Durdin , although he earned his spot with two goals also fumbled a bit in close , Berry missed some in close chances from being too left side dominant , Wehr was scratchy and didn’t do it right when he did get the ball .
Good tough game and in the main we played well with a good game plan , just lacked a little from our bottom end and young players.
Future looks reasonably bright if we bolster the list a little , if Butters stays I’d say back to the finals next year

Thought it was hip/buttock region
Took a mark and Tillthorpe came from behind to spoil and hit JHF on the side as he came through and connected with his hip. After this clash JHF was feeling his side and then fell out of the game.

Also the umpiring was just bizarre.

I think the free count by quarter went 3-9 / 8-2 / 2-6 / 8-3

It was like the umpires decided to be a breeze to one end

You make some good points, JCs definitely got them tracking in the right direction, especially with our defensive structure & forward 50 entries.

I’m hoping Moraes can rapidly develop & take over one of the wing roles full time. Wehr ain’t up to it, & Burgoyne is still to inconsistent. I also see some potential in Mackinlay, has some solid AFL traits, just needs to put a few good games together for his own confidence.

Do we a have a specialist goal kicking coach yet? although i don't think we should panic about MG missing goals just yet, what concerns me is kicking the crucial goal under pressure to ice a game.
The real issue is when he is missing goals.

When the game on the line or still to be determined and it is close, he struggles.
Outside of that, he's a dead eye dick.

He needs to be clincial.

Just watched the replay of the Showdown.
Despite the skill errors on both sides.Pressure around the footy was, enormous.
With am amazing finish to the match.Just wonder if Ollie had of soccered the ball.In the dying seconds.
Commentary was hilarious.Ken can't help but support his boys. And Draino Russles love for the Crows
