So here we have it, after weeks of the media, us supporters and several other sources trying to name our brand of football, tonight Nick Maxwell described it in simple detail on Foxsports "On The Couch".

When asked by James Hird to name our "brand", Nick Maxwell responsed with;

(paraphrasing here)

Side by Side, that's it, I know people will say we stole it from our song, but it really is what we are all about.
Never leave a man behind or one out, always support your team mates and rely on the 22 on the field, not just a few individuals.

It is our motto, it isn't hard to figure out why we are going to win the flag in 5 days time, but it was awesome to hear Maxy say it in as many words.

Every time Nick was asked about our confidence or about any comment he has made about us winning flags, you got the sense Maxwell just "oozed" confidence and belief.

I hope someone YouTube's this interview tomorrow, it will install belief in even the most nervous and pessimistic Collingwood supporter.

Whilst food shopping this evening, I walked with the trolly right to the other end to start shopping (frozen section fyi)

Yeah Loved that Bit of the Interview and just felt so proud when he said that.

I was wondering if he was going to call it the S**t Down Defense that The Royal Sampler Dubbed it

Best bit of that interview is right at the end when Hird asks Maxy if there's any doubt they'll will win.

Maxy, just for a split second, wonders what answer he should give, then decides honesty is the best approach.

"Nup".


Perfect response. No explanation, no qualifying the answer - "If we do this, then we'll come out on top... etc". Just "Nup."

Unfortunately they cut off the throw back to Hird, who looked mega impressed.

These guys have incredible self belief, and I reckon it comes from the top.
