Won't be us. Joe Daniher will cost us our First Rounder and we will be focusing on bringing Caddy home to the club he wants to be at.

Ha Ha have to laugh,Sidebottom is not going anywhere,he will re sign with Collingwood, one of our best midfielders, and big game player.

Johnson will retire at seasons end,Krakouer and Didak will have to take pay cuts if they want to stay.We will have the money to keep the core group together. After a player's career ends at collingwood they can write their own ticket, can't do that at many other clubs.

The pies are the biggest club in the league with more premeirship success at stake. We will keep who we want and if someone peripheral slips through that's how it goes. Sidebottom is a required player.

Just remember players play for success first then money. Its only the peripheral players that want money cos they aint good enough to have success.Hell some lower clubs have champions playing for them and they get little money and no success, they are the ones GWS will mainly target.

Seems that on RSN this morning they think he may go due to the magpies needing money for the likes of Cloke. Thoughts? Adam white thinks Bombers already have Caddy and should chase Sidebottom. Can't tell he follows essendon hey. So what would it take for a trade.

Oh and by the way don't listen to what Adam White says he is full of shite. He is only saying that cos he's an Essendon supporter,of course he would like sidebottom at Essendon!

He could always join his Bushranger mates Ziebell, Wright, Atley and Mangan at North.;):thumbsu:

Would love Sidebottom AND Caddy; but I don't like our chances of getting either.

Daniher will definetely require our first rounder (and by all accounts it will be unders for him), and both Gold Coast and Collingwood aren't exactly going to give either away. Neither qualifies for free agency - we're cooked here.

You'd think we are a mid-table side at worst, so pre-season draft is out of the question.

So if we were willing to trade, honestly, what would you be willing to give up?

Collingwood would be asking for Ryder, or Pears and a pick - and Gold Coast as we are already aware would be asking for Hurley or Heppell .

I'd MAYBE consider the Pears and a second rounder option due to our relative strength in talls, but would that satisfy the Pies? They aren't historically easy to deal with when trading players out.

I'd love to be wrong (especially on the Caddy front, whom I seriously rate); but I reckon we are slim to none to trade in any decent talent at the end of this year.

.

We traded Richard Cole to you. What are you complaining about?

A refusal to trade Sidebottom to you would not be being difficult to trade with but Essendon being unable to offer anything decent. Not unwilling unable.

Assuming Sidey wanted to go and no evidence exists, why not trade with a side that would make far better offers.

Caddy will be at Essendon next year.

I would have made sure I had enough money to sign Sidebottom and Cloke before worrying about signing Shaw.

Christ that didn't take long.

I wrote a pretty reasonable post explaining why I thought it was unlikely Essendon would attract either player, and the first responding post is this unfortunate bloke here who pipes up with "Not unwilling unable".

You could have written, "Essendon would be unwilling to part with anything of substantial enough value" and that would have been a pretty fair assessment. And actually what I said in the first place.

Unable.

If he plays for your side he's instantly worth three times more eh?

Make no mistake mate, if Essendon dangled Ryder, Hurley etc out there in exchange for Sidebottom they'd take it and laugh about it.

^ No Unable meaning in the real world no insane trades. Essendon will never offer Ryder and Hurley for Sidebottom.Your first round draft will go on Daniher so a good player and second draft will not be enough especially when GC and GWS can offer better.

With clarification, I agree with you.

How exactly, assuming your first rounder will be for Daniher (reasonable assumption, that's what most Bombers fans seem to think)?

Why do collingwood people keep saying this? You think you have this giant money pit and influence that you can get people anything they want?

What a load of bollocks

I have heard from aunreliable source that the Bombers have secured Sidebottom, Daniher and Caddy. Travis Boak and possibly Chris Judd are also in the mix.

I doubt people would have any clue who is going where at this very moment.

I doubt bombers would already have something worked out with Suns for Caddy.

Sidebottom will not Leave as this came up the last Time Steele came out of Contract and knocked you back and said he wanted to be a Pie for Lfe.

What is RSN anyway?

Essendon no chance, in the scenario that they actually want to trade him (imo I think he'll still be a magpie in 2013) they'll want a draft pick. Why would they trade him for another player if they are getting rid of him for salary cap issues, makes no sense.

Don't know how it will happen but I do know Caddy will nominate Essendon again and we are well and truely into him still.

I imagine it will take some clever trading and involve a few clubs.

I'd be very surprised if Sidey left, but if he did it would be for an over-the-odds contract. In that case, he'd be free to go.
