When I was reading thread, you had PLP and I had a Collingwood player, now it has gone back.

Why didn't the club build a carpark under the Olympic Park oval while they had the opportunity? It would have cost a bomb, but it would have been a fantastic revenue earner.

It's a prime parking location (tennis centre, AAMI stadium, MCG, New Glasshouse venue hire, access to city). Good for CFC members and fans (game day, special club events). Good entry / exit access on Swan St and Monash Freeway.

There probably would have been some killjoys in the local / state government or Olympic Park trust who would have sunk it.

No way, then the surface of the oval would be really hard on the players (a la Docklands) and we'd have higher injuries, sorer players on gameday, etc.

I'd prefer to keep the metres and metres of pure turf...
