I couldn't watch the rd20 game yesterday, but I've watched it now. Was watching Simmo's performance and there's no way he's 100 per cent with it.

Fairly certain he is still affected by the likely concussion he suffered after that heavy hit he took vs North last Friday. Thoughts?

If so, Melbourne or not, we should not be playing concussed players heading into finals.

If he was suffering from anything, I would have thought it more likely to be bruised ribs or kidneys. He didn't get hit in the head, but rather got a knee to the kidneys.

Hmm. I thought there was head contact. If you're right then he's playing injured. Either way he was not 100 per cent.

Maybe he just had a down day?

Maybe. Still, his awareness and inability to take relatively easy uncontested marks he would normally take, suggests its a little more than that. Maybe he did, and I'm overreacting.

22 disposals is ok even if we did dominate in the midfield.

He went alright, right around his season average for touches, maybe just lethargic. Didn't see anything to suggest he was playing injured. Took a couple of big knocks last week, but a few bruises isn't enough to stop him, he's a tough little nugget.

I agree, he is tough. Still, our player management hasn't been stellar this year. I hope I'm wrong.

i was at the game and i said he looked like he was sick like the flu or something, could explain why he was wearing a long sleeve jumper aswell

it wasnt cold enough for a long sleeve jumper, and only girls wear long sleeve jumpers unless theyre sick. thats why daisy wore one last night.

This.

Wore an airborne Petrie knee right in the kidneys, while running backwards and blindsided.

Be very surprised if he wasnt pissing red for a few days afterwards.

He'll bounce back.

Blasphemy, cardable.

Care to explain why our games record holder Craig Bradley frequently donned the sleeves on overcast days?

The "Fullback of the Century" wore a long sleeve jumper for most of his playing career.

Just on the concussion thing, is it just me or has that rule basically faded into oblivion?

The first few rounds it seemed there was a few times a week that a player was subbed off due to concussion. It may have still been happening and i've just missed it, but I don't recall anyone being subbed off with concussion since the first few weeks of the year. I've even seen players continue playing after clearly looking out of it.

Are the clubs just ignoring it now?

Well considering the effect it has on rotations, I think they turn a blind eye. In the case of Simmo, if he was concussed he shouldn't have played vs Melbourne. Last year Lewis came out and spoke about his lack of form after his concussion and it just looked to me like Simmo was not right. I saw his hit vs North both at the ground and on tv and which clearly hurt him more than most.

As a club gunning for finals need to be respectful and show duty of care to one of our blue collar workhorses.
