because the afl can threaten goody with life bans just so they tarnish his name and the club because we dont agree with what the afl has to say every time unlike cheating victorian clubs and port power

WHAT?? When did Power ever cheat I'd love to know? I think Life ban is a bit too harsh for anyone I think a fine and few weeks suspension is fine.

He needs to be made an example of there's no doubt about that & the penalty should be severe but not a life ban. I'm thinking more like say a minimum of $15,000, which isn't much for someone like Goodwin plus say a few games suspension otherwise if he along with whoever else is doing it & yes that includes any Port Players will continue to wager money on afl games. It's in the rules that no players can bet on AFL games so just suspend & or fine them & get on with the game.
 
MM i agree not a life ban, but if he was wagering $20k+ bets, if he did indeed win substantial amounts of money is $15k really a deterrent. ive no doubt that suspension hurts more than fines cos he let his team/club down.

hypothetical: 2x $20k bets at $3.50 = $140,000 winfall does a $15k fine match the crime?
 
I wonder what penalty Adelaide themselves will impose, if any. He might get booted out of their leadership group but anything else?

FWIW I think he should get a hefty fine and a suspended sentence.

This thread is about Simon Goodwin and his breaking of AFL rules. Anything Dean Brogan has or has not done to a doctor is of absolutely no relevance to the topic at hand.

what is a matter of public record is the payments made, brokered through your club, relating to alleged incidents.

any idiot, of which you're not just "any", can work out what is and isn't fact.

there were no charges. fact
there were large payments made. fact.
