Simplified Logo

[Fight For It]

This isn't exactly a huge thing, but I noticed on the Melbourne website they've got a simplified version of the logo up.

It is pretty much the same, just missing the gradients and the watermark writing. Also I believe the football and trident are simplified somewhat.

I think its also the one on the AFL website, although that one is too small to really tell. I'd say this means that this will be the logo used in smaller situations.

What do people think?

It looks good, I think it has lost the 'busyness' that some of us were concerned about, but of course having the fully designed one for really important stuff i.e. club functions etc. But this one is better for merch and letterheads and stuff.
I just wished they'd tweak that shade of red. It still looks too pink IMO.

Doesn't look as good as the other logo, but it will be much better for the merchandising purposes.

Can't really complain about it, seems like a sensible option.

I wonder if we will have a variation of the 2 logos on things like merch and players Gurnsey

Yeah I'm not surprised they made a simpler, it seemed the obvious thing to do for merchandise purposes. And I agree with d33my, not a massive fab of that shade of red.

A lot of sites have not caught up to North Melbourne being North Melbourne and not Kangaroos. It is rather an indictment on Kangas rather than us.

On topic: I think it looks great. And will shut the naysayers up you would think.

As an outsider I didn't understand your logo until someone explained the history behind the individual elements (eg trident etc)

Must say I'm converted - it's one of the best logos around. Nice one.

It looks a little blocky, which tbh makes it look more like an AFL logo. The great thing about the new logo was the 3D effect. Not sure how I like the simplified logo haha, nice and neat though.

new logo will be to simplify things. Ask a kid to draw our fancy one, ask em to draw the simple one, they will have a chance with the simple one

im a huuuuuuuuuuge fan of the new stuff. Looks fantastic. My dad still wants the demon. I wonder if the demon will be used in any of the merch...
