Since when is it 22 vs 25, that was a f*n disgrace!! I've not seen umpiring like that in YEARS, I was wondering when I got back how many people would have mentioned it..UNBELIEVABLE, Freo most defiantely didn't desreve that game, I don't care what any idiot reckons, Adelaide would have creamed it in the 2nd quarter without the little Green maggots....Freo appealed a loss last year, just as bad tonight I say!!

Interesting to see that we actually got a worse deal than the Tigs got yesterday (using percentages)

Yes - will be interesting to hear how the Freo supporters (who bagged WCE yesterday about the frees against Richmond) justify getting 22 frees to 9 against.

If you listened to the call by Grybas, Jakovich and Frawley it was 28 v 22...that was easily the most one sided call of a game i have ever heard...

It was even more frustrating than the umpires...What did everyone think of the Goodwin throw call, see plenty of those in a game of footy..looked like his fist was close to the ball..

There is no way shaun macmanus would have played 200 games for any other club...

The boys were gallant..didnt deserve to finish like that..but again the commentary was a disgrace....

The Goodwin 'throw' did look dodgy, but his arms were pinned, weren't they? So what else was he gonna do?

Doesn't matter, he didn't get a proper disposal away. That's exactly what the opposition will try to do. So it was a free kick.

Except it was the first time they chose to make that decision all day despite the fact that there were more throws then legitimate handballs in the game.

I notice we've been bent over by umpires now for what, 3 weeks running?

What?

We got an absolute dream run against the Bulldogs and the umpires were crucial in the low scoring game against Sydney with us picking up 3 goals from free kicks and all those soft 50 metre penalties at the start of the game.

IMO we have had a great season so far from the umpires, today's free kick count was more to do with our poor tackling efforts (how many needless in the backs did we give away?) than anything else.

Well said.

The in the back rule is one that needs reviewing - it's silly to penalise a tackler because the tackled player deliberately falls forward in a tackle.

It is a tricky one - especially if the player with the ball is going to ground anyway. Despite this I thought we were untidy. The discipline of our tackling has improved over the last couple of seasons (Bode and Thompson used to give away 3-4 frees a game each with untidy tackles) but I thought we were poor in this regard today.

I agree with you, I didnt see too much today that wasnt there. There were a few that werent paid our way, but I didnt think it seemed that bad.

We did get a dream run against the bullies, I think the crowd does influence the umpires though which doesnt help.

I dont really think that anyone believes that umpiring can be deliberately against a particular side though.
