Admin Announcement Site Upgrade 2026

Over the next few days we will be upgrading BigFooty's back end and then the forum software.

Site Availability: The site may be disabled for a short time on Friday 2nd Jan.

Posts and Uploads: There may be a short period of time tomorrow where anything you post will be lost: it will not persist into the upgraded system. Save your magnum opus for the weekend.

Log in: You will need to log back in after we cut over to the upgraded system. Make sure you know your password and your email address is correct.

Search: The Search Index will rebuild over a couple of days, so will be either unavailable or incomplete during that time. We will update this thread with any news on search.

New Stuff: Go here, anything marked "2.3" is our dealio.

Site Notices will be posted to let everyone know what is happening.

[UPDATE Jan 11]

The Sunday 11th phase of BigFooty's maintenance and upgrade has been completed. Reactions are limited for now. Search is rebuilding. Scheduled Posts are back! Other upgraded features may look/operate slightly different. The styling and colours will change over time.

• Customised Reactions: Not working until the next phase of the upgrade is completed.
• Scheduled Posts: Setting this up now!
• Search: Still reindexing.

Jan 13th - I'm reverting the colours to try and make this new styling system work.

Jan 14th - Let's see how we go this time

Jan 18th - More features are returning today. Watched content bars, hopefully the club supporter icon as well.

Jan 21st - SEARCH DAY! Search is back.

Jan 24th - Another upgrade for back end stuff incoming - this will let us re-enable the full reactions system.

April 7th - Changed background colour for selected text - now more visible. Try it!

The emojis at the end of thread titles in the forum list that indicate reactions to the OP –– Did this just happen or did I just notice? Seems like visual clutter to some extent but I guess it's mostly harmless, at least until some troll posts a rage bait thread.


Also pls make breadcrumbs/thread title above the reply box a priority

Currently pinned posts at the top of each page have no visual difference to the rest of the thread. They used to be grey from memory so you could differentiate the pinned post from the actual thread.

You have to click the Alerts symbol to get the list but if you click it again to disappear it, it takes you to the Alerts page

Need the hover method back please.

The ribbon navigation at the top of the page for me is defaulting to the far right instead of the left where you can click on your club board quickly. Have to manually scroll it back to the start to show News, Club Board, Forums etc

Colour coding on stuff is all janky.... What used to black font for me is now red.

Chief must be getting OPSM sponsorship $$ testing for colour blindness.

Its not a good look for me.

Temporary workaround for the top banner scrolling to the right (and not showing your team board) til Chief can get it fixed.


Go to your team board and click "Watch" to the right of the page number




Untick all Alert options




Click Watch to save the above, and then refresh Bigfooty. You'll now have a hyperlink at the top of the page.

Thy was a custom job as well, and the developer is no longer available. But it should be in one of the addons we haven't switched back on yet as it hasn't been checked for compatibility with the new version.

Another simpler fix - which may or may not work for individuals is to press "Ctrl + 0" on any page
