Was it just me or was anyone else thoroughly impressed by the beautiful condition of the ground surface. The grass was so lush and consistent with no patches. Puts places like TD to shame. Good to see they have overcome the issues for a couple of years ago

Must be an absolute pleasure to play on :o

Yeah, that fiasco was resolved around Round 16...
 
I was there today (Friday 17th Feb 2006) and crossed the ground to get to the Hickey stand. The surface looked terrific, yet it felt very wet and slippery. It gave the impression that if you stood still water would well up around your feet. Still, the players seemed to have little problem with it. I just imagine it would make bouncing and baulking very dicey.

I found the surface harder than what it looked, very easy to play on.

It was wet in patches. I'm sure nothing more than an early sprinkler session. Looks fantastic
