I think the more important part is what all that money was spent on (remembering construction costs are higher over there) - their Cobham Training Facility not only houses the full set of training and medical facilities needed for the seniors, it also houses their Football Academy, with facilities for teams all the way down to the Under 9's on a space of about 140 acres, including kitchens and rooms, and the Football in the Community division, whatever that is. All up the facility is probably servicing somewhere in the region of 400+ players and coaches, from the age of 7 upwards.

Just a shade larger than the facility the Crows are building.

what makes you think construction costs are higher? there is a great myth that things in Adelaide/Australia are cheap.

sure, its a bigger facility - but the point being no stone was left unturned.

what's more its untrue to suggest the facility is equal for u/9's as it is for the big boys.

I didn't mean to suggest things in Australia are cheap, I meant to suggest that things in the UK are outrageously expensive. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I never said the facilities were equal for the Under 9's and the first team, I just said both existed, and both would be close to state of the art relative to what is offered for each career stage throughout the rest of Europe. The new Crows facility certainly doesn't house an academy, or cater for anything other than the 40 players plus rookies on the crows senior list.

nah things in the UK are a lot cheaper than people think. do you have any idea how little the polish will work for?? :D

Don't get Crowmo started on his "things are actually less expensive in London" jag - I once spent two days researching whether he was right or wrong (he's wrong) as part of deciding whether I should take a job in London, but once we started discussing facts instead of the dinner party opinions of him and his middle class cronies, he got suspiciously quiet.

;)
