because my guy and i totally hit it off and things were great then the footy subject came up and i said Crows he said port and we were both well we looked shattered there was an oh.................(awkard silence) then a 'oh well rivalry is good isn't it?'

Even worse ... my girlfriend and her whole family barrack for Essendon for no conceivable reason other than that they are red and black and therefore the guernseys look like West Adelaide who they also follow (this is far more acceptable).

I despise Essendon even more than Collingwood and them even more than Port so it is certainly a match made in hell from that point of view.

I am hoping against hope tho that the Bombers do win something this year ... the wooden spoon!

Let me assure you for me its fantastic, we both love footy, going to the footy, going to AFC functions together(thats where we met), all our kids are AFC supporters, big happy AFC family

My girlfriend used to play football for West but I swear sometimes I am embarrassed by her comments and questions. I think the game has passed her by, she is stuck in the Essendon "golden era" from 1999-2001 (aren't they all? )

I remember in Melbourne after the crows win against Carlton there were some Eagles fans in town heading to the Dome to see them get thumped by the Dogs.

I said to one "Go Eagles...I like you now that you are really really shit".
