Good news - especially Sloaney.

So who's left that is really important - The Dangerman, Thommo, Bocky? Is there anyone else who we really need to get contracted left unsigned?

geez the idiots on the facebook page annoy me... "johncock is useless, petrenko is useless"...

anyway, of we can lock away most of our key players over the coming weeks, ill be happy. it WOULD be nice if the club disclosed some more details regarding the extensions, but i'll take it

We need to sign up Thompson and Knights ASAP!

Bock im not so worried about with his form this year being very up and down and with philly davis emergining I think we can afford to lose Bock. If we lost thompson it would have serious consequences for this club.

I dont think stiffy has signed either

great news about these two

just need dangerroo to sign and the windows of awesomeness will be well and truly opened

Don't count bock's form this year, he has come off that bad heel fracture problem.. Then had problem after problem this year.. If he gets fit again/has a good preseason, look out.. We will remember why he was so good..

What a great day!!

Sloane, Petrenko re-sign and just discovered Riggy is red carded!! :thumbsu:

Great news re Sloane - definitely a player on the rise.

WRT Petrenko - jury's still out for me...worthy of another year to try and prove himself but don't think I would have offered two (unless it's pretty low dollars/low risk). Good turn out okay but I think has been passed by Sloane, Jaensch, Symes and others as small utility type players.

i see what youre saying... i reckon given 6-7 games in the BP, he could really stake a claim.

Delighted to hear about Sloane :thumbsu: From what I've heard he had already agreed in principle to re-sign quite a while ago.

Also delighted to hear about Petrenko, since for my money he'll play lots of football in 2011 (probably battling with Armstrong to be McLeod's replacement as a running defender) - it's good to see the club still rates him.

Terrific News! Sloane in middle will be be very good and Petrenko as a small defender/Mid (just needs to be played there to show what some of us believe he can do!)

Very happy with the two

Very good to hear:thumbsu: Especially Sloane.

Now we just need Knights, Bock and Danger to put pen to paper and we're all good:)

excellent news!!!

article on afl site states that "the Crows are also confident they can retain star trio Nathan Bock, Graham Johncock and Scott Thompson." but Knights is yet to re-sign, which tells me, negotiations are on the way to retaining the above three names. the only mention of Danger in the article is that he's expressed his desire to stay on, which we already know anyway.
Knights is still up in the air...

Best news I've had all week. I get goose bumps just thinking about how good the teams going to be when the kids have got 100 games under their belt. I hope they become 10 year players for us.

Agree with Vader, why cant they announce the length of the deal?!!!
Same with Rutten and MacKay (was MacKay 2 yrs?)
Great about Sloaney , been impressive!! Hope it was a 3yr contract!!
I'm not as sure on Petrenko ,unless its a one-year deal. Did show something at times, but not enough to consolidate a long term future ,and was given enough games to prove himself. Even tho it can be said he was played out of position. Agree with him staying on next year tho, dont get me wrong!

Who was worried if we're retaining Johncock? Isnt he signed until end of 2011?

Dangerfield wont go anywhere.

Thommo I doubt will go anywhere.

Bocky I hope doesn't; but if they're doubling his salary, I don't blame him.

Knights is the one that really worries me; and if he's fit, I'd get him back into the side ASAP. Getting himself in form and playing with the rest of his mates, especially if we're winning, will make him want to stay a hell of a lot more.

Not sure Sloane would want a three year contract, unless it has significant scope for improvement. He'll get a fair raise compared to what he's been on, but considering he should end up as a starting 22 midfielder for us, and he's only going to get better (and bigger, hopefully :o ) he should be up for a fair raise again in two years time. No point locking himself into a contract for three years unless he feels he'll have trouble getting it extended in two years time, and it's not like confidence is a problem for Rory ;)

As for Petrenko, he should get two years in my opinion, but I'm an unabashed fan :o
