Sloane out for 6 weeks

Must be a pretty bad ankle to be out for 6 weeks... basedo n aour track record of assessing injuries... add atleast 2-4 weeks to that before he'll be considered for AFL again.

Steven's concussion atleast helps explain his poor performance on the weekend.

What midfielders do we have to consider in place of Sloane?

Midfield depth is very poor at the moment.

injury more associated with basketball. I've copped ankle injuries that have ranged from a 1 weeker to a 10 weeker.
Sprain - 1-5 varying on degree.
Pull/strain - 2-6
Tear - 4-8
Rupture - 6-10

It's a shame because it will keep him located on a bike or in the pool for the next month.

 I did a bad sprain, which should of kept me out for 2-3 weeks (played next week due to it being a final and we needed the numbers)

just imagining something worse than mine which swelled up heaps, with bruising all over the foot

must look terrible if you get a 5 week one

Once you injure an ankle it never seems to be at full strength again, plus chances of doing it again get raised. Bad news for such a promising kid.

Now everyone lets try and keep this a secret because we don't want to break poor old stabby's heart when he finds out!

HEY LOOK, A DISTRACTION!!

I've injured my ankle before and it healed up just fine after a month or so. I don't think we'll have any problems with Sloaney. Massive pity to lose him for six weeks though, he was looking very much a part of the side before he went down.

At this rate we're going to be forced to upgrade rookies just to field a side.

Torn ligamentts in both ankles and yes, not a fun injury. Incredibly painful, swells like a balloon and cant put any pressure on it for maybe 2-3 weeks. It never gets to 100% but then again, i didnt get the assistance/revovery plan/rehabilitation program than sloane will have from the crows' medicos.

I wonder whether all crows players, regardless of whether they have had an ankle injury, strap their ankles as a preventative measure. Regardless, no amount of strapping was going to save Sloane injuring his ankle in that tackle - looked nasty.

It's ligament damage

Ankles are b*tches! I hurt mine the week after our semi-final loss (missed a step and went over on it) and it's still not 100%.
I tore ligaments on the outside of my right foot straight after the Collingwood game, when in a drunken rage, I decided to go out and kick the footy on the road. Hurt like hell - I drank a whole bottle of Jager and it still didn't ease the pain. It still gives me a fair amount of trouble 6 months on :(.

Hope Sloaney gets better quickly.

HAHA gold! :D

I was safe from injury after that game. I dont think I got off the couch for the next 6 hours. I was more staring at the TV to try and compute what the hell happened while my wife was waving her hand in front of my face to see if I was conscious.

Bad luck for the kid. Son of Bickley is going to be a little beauty. If we had more with his courage, toughness and aggression who knows we may start to win finals again.
