It would be great if people would stop besmirching Brodie Smith's good name by saying that he ducked.

Brodie spun out of a tackle and was tripped, he lost balance and his upper body fell forward.

Look at Brodie Smith's feet:

See the steps are taken on the toes/balls of his feet.
Look at how high Brodie Smith's left foot gets right before the collision, this is a clear as day stumble after being tripped.

He.Did.Not.Duck.

If you still think he ducked, you're entitled to think that, but you probably have bigger problems upstairs than being wrong about this.
Thanks.

He didn't duck but he enhanced the forward motion. I don't think anyone is besmirching his name and I'm not sure why your getting so fired up over it. The main thing is that he got up without serious injury. Go and listen to the commentators for a similar reaction. Live it looked like he exaggerated the forward motion. The only reason you saw the trip was likely playing it in slow motion. The main point is that players shouldn't duck or enhance the forward motion. Have a lie down mate as you seem like you have some issues tonight.

His body was low and falling forward but he tucked his head down which is a natural reaction to protect your face and probably to a degree ensure a free kick. Not lycetts fault, not smith's fault. He did duck his head in but not in the way your trying to defend.

football collision
play on

Though, TECHNICALLY - Lycett careless, high contect, high impact.

Technically a suspension, but lets be real we'd cry foul if it went the other way (though, im sure some would say karma if it happened ot Lycett after McHenry incedent)

I'd say playon, bad luck.

Footy collision, nothing to see here, have the rest of the year off Brodie if your headache is bad

Jesus.

He spun out of a tackle straight into the path of Lycett. Falling forward, saw the contact coming to his face and tucked his head down to avoid it.

Why are you so salty about this OP?

No Murray, I know words are hard sometimes for you, but that isn't how you spell the phrase: 'I was wrong'.

Though I commend the effort in attempting to shift from 'duck' to the mind bending 'enhanced the forward motion', however fruitless, because you're still wrong and you still don't understand how human movement works, it is not possible for him to 'enhance his forward motion' when he is stumbling after tripping.

You're besmirching his name by suggesting he contributed to a football accident.

When or how I saw the trip is irreverent to the fact that the trip occurred and it was clear in the full speed replay anyway.

Weird to have that as a main point when it didn't happen here.

Ah yes, the classic refrain in the poem of wrongness. I'm perfectly capable of being right, and wrong, and a bellend on the Internet without needing a nap, it is easy, sorry that you require rest periods.

I'm not salty about this at all, because I'm right, and I'm proven right. Read a number of posts at the time and after replays were shown where people were saying he was ducking.

Yeah he tucked his head, but that isn't a duck. Instinctively didn't want to cop the hit straight to his face, probably for the best.

we live in a bizarre time where no one can be bending down the pick up the ball and be caught high anymore. every high call these days gets met with someone screaming he ducked. you still need to be able to pick up the ball.

it's an incredibly unlucky incident where smith hopefully just gets away from it with a cut and concussion

Exactly, tripped by Rozee, didn’t duck and not Lycett’s fault at all.

I think you've misinterpreted people's use of the term "duck" in this instance.
