My whole life spent waiting for that... It was fun and all, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel quite as grand as I thought it might. Every year I've looked at supporters of other clubs which have won the premiership and been jealous. This year, we've worked hard to get where we are, but it's not the kind of feeling I'd expected. Despite what most posters said about the lid, I kind of feel like us winning the premiership has just been a formality from the middle of the year onwards. It is good to be number one, but it's not as good as I thought it would be...

Sort of know what you mean. The feeling now is, where do you go from here? As Cook said, we will never have a season as successful as this one. I think the fact that we won by so much sort of toned down the excitement a little but for some reason..just seemed like we did it a little too easy. :p Great feeling, but yeah, its psychology isnt it? - you always want what you can't have and when you get it, you want something else.

I'm about to watch the replay this arvo, i think it might sink in more then because all my life Grand Finals have always been this magical occasion on tv, being there was unbelievable but made it seem like just another game apart from the entertainment and presentations of course haha

It still doesn't seem real that this is happening to us!

I'm downloading but nobody is seeding...

I've watched the dvd 3 times now since watching it. :p, But I know wht you mean. I never went to the parade, Didn't go to the grand final, or anything like that, so that may be why. To be honest I stuffed the day up by getting so drunk and stupidly assaulting someone, then got lockd up for most the night. So it wasn't the greatest day for me. :o

I think I'll watch the replay I taped over and over, recorded on my set top box, so will probably make up my own dvd of the footy shows, some training footage, photos, pre-match stuff, the game, news reports of the night celebrations and the supporters day yesterday. Will take a while, but will definitely be worth it.

A little less to drink next time?

put it on youtube if you can

Yeah was a pretty big let down. Apart form the scenes in town. The grand final was great, but lost it spark because we won by so much. Had a few pints but overall i found it to be a anti climax.

I can tell you now MMk, wait till next season starts. The gift will still be giving then, and you'll just want to do it all again. I know I do. I wish the weekend could have lasted forever!

i know what you mean, I think it's because we haven't seen them win it in our lives and we don't know what to do!

I heard there were naked women at Johnstons Park and I heard one guy dropped his dacks right in front of a copper and got arrested LoL

I kind of felt that way - I expected a tight game, and figured that when we won there'd just be this overwhelming relief; the monkey's finally off, the jibes can stop, I've seen one before I die etc. So when we belted the bejesus out of them it did kind of lose its lustre...but seeing the screaming sea of blue and white around me, the sheer joy on my uncles face, hearing born-and-bred Grandad on the phone, I was elevated. It was just so awesome.

That and I began to tear up at Family Day when Ricco appeared on the screen - such a servant and he never got there, never felt it. Did again as we left the ground to strains of Greg Champion and that mass of smiling faces. Even now I'm getting shivers from the excitement of it all - we won a ****ing flag!

Reading this makes me feel a little better. I thought I was the only one. I've felt like I didn't make the most of it and sitting at work now is a bit hollow or something??

But at the same time I'm stoked that I had a row B seat and got to touch the holy grail. Shake all the players hands and witness the hoodoo break while being there.

I was meaning to get down to geelong the next day but drank myself out of contention on Sat night/sunday morning. I was in the MCC line at 3am Sat morning which is why I couldn't make it to Geelong on sunday. I guess it'll take a few weeks for it to all sink in!!!!

Exactly what i was thinking!! I'm just like wow that was great, but did i really make the most of it? The blow out of the game took some of the excitement away, because we knew we were going to win at half time.

Was at the game, it is was just as bloody awsome as I ever anticipated it would be.

What a sweet day, sweet memories, and to see so much joy. Singing the song until I just could not anymore (started in time on in the third quarter, finished about midnight, singing no more than every 5 minutes)

First drinks were at 11.30am, I called stumps at about 9 after the Fed Square presentation. Really enjoyed it, but past the days of getting absolutley blotto.

If anything, yesterday was dissapointing, at least until the players arrived. Got there about 12, and apart from queueing, had nothing to really entertain, having said that, the club were between a rock and a hard place. Lose, and you get about 2K there for a wake, win, and I cannot believe there was only 30K in attendance!

Next time, have Champs on before the team to fire us up while we are standing around!

But have no idea how anyone could say it was a anti-climax......

I think it has a bit to do with the atmosphere and tension of the PF the week before. When the game is a blowout, you don't get the same surge at the final siren that you do in the close ones.

For me tho, as soon as I felt we had it covered, I just reveled in 3 quarters of sublime footy from the 2007 premiership team! It wasn't a huge rush at the end, more like a slow build up till the bell went and the silverware was in our hands. The lid was well and truly off then.

i dead set feel the same way. its sorta surreal, i actually started 2 tear up at the collingwood game. i then thought i wld b cryin like a baby at the granny, but i thought the atmosphere was pretty dead as compared 2 the wk b4. i am happy and the geelong jumper isnt comin off 4 the wk. but yeah, as someone said before, i sorta want the season to start now so we can do it all again!

i have never thought that way before because by this stage of the year, i normally cant wait for cricket 2 start.

i would like it 2 happen again just 2 c what sort of reaction i have next time!

but u wld b stupid 2 say u8 dont feel anything. im definately stoked, just not as much as i thought i wld b.

Okay guys, thats what happened to me when the Swans won the premiership in 05. I was thinking... is that it?

But trust me, don't take this premiership for granted, because I did (not saying you guys are taking this win for granted, but just be weary of how fast one year goes). How much do I crave for my club to be called the Reigning Premiers again. Trust me! When Season 08 kicks off... you'll feel great. Being labelled as the 07 Premiers throughout the season will make you feel good.

If only i took in all those 365 days of being the reigning premiers. Soak it in guys. :thumbsu:

However, thinking about ending the 72 year drought just makes me feel good. 44 years guys! Thats loong...

Its been huge for me. I flew to Melbourne Sunday morning and made my way to Geelong, joined the thousands at the ground. Bomber took time out to sign my jumper and many others, which I thought was the ducks guts (good). It gets much better. A member told me to head to the Lord of the Isles, walked into Geelong heaven. Bews, Barry S, Billy, Barnes, Simpson, Darcy, P Brown. Ended up sitting in a corner talking to Peter B and another happy bloke. This bloke and his loverly wife took me to the labia nightclub Where I got to meet his son and his footy mates. Oh yeah this guys name was Terry, son Steve Johnson. No hollow feeling here blew the lid clean off, still excited sitting in the Geelong libary waiting for the plane home. Go cats
