Against the filth, or the scum?

It's bound to happen, so if we had to lose to one of them, which would you prefer?
Both of them would love nothing more than to send us off broken, injured, reported and beaten just out of spite (and truth be told so would I if I was in that position).

And as we should all know by know, ladder positions between these three teams mean jack schit when they play each other.

I'm kinda confused, 'cos it looks like I'll be down for the carlton match, so obviously I'd like to see a win, but then Collingwood are, ugh, just Collingwood, and one should never entertain the thought of being beaten by that scum.

PS. Yes, I'm as stoked as everyone else here about last night, but given our form over the last month, I'm not sure it'll do that much for us in the long run.
Too little too late unfortunately....
:(

The Scum.

It's laughable watching everyones crotches gushing after last night. It's a little to late for us to play like this. Plus Rioli is out again for a few weeks. That's going to hurt. On the plus side, Lucas is comming back.

We'll beat both pretty comfortably as both are pretty depleted through injury at the moment - it won't help our finals credentials too much beating them, but it will be nice to shut their supporters up.

We should win both. Injuries depleting Collingwood, and Carlton have turned very bad, very quickly. Look out for the Dogs in R22.

One of my favourite wins over that navy vomit was in 1994 , we played them in the last round and did the buisness , our season was over but they were finals bound. Oh jesus was it on in standing room !!!! Many mentions of 1993 , they were giving it to us for having a poor `94 and plenty of straight sets calls being fired back, not that we would think they would actually go out in straight sets.
Went to both of their finals losses, the Geelong one was a clinker, Geelong had three of their best out that day ( Hocking, Bairstow, Pickering from memory) and bumped into the same ****ers. Straight sets boys.
Poetry.

You think you might lose the Sydney game???

You say it as if there is a chance you could win, get real, there is no chance in hell of Essendon beating Sydney

An injury depleted Collingwood side could be a problem for Essendon as there are potential mismatches that would favour Collingwood

Who will play on Tarrant?
Who will Fletcher play on?
Hird could find himself on a quicker opponent with Clement on Lloyd who held Lloyd goalless when he played on him for a period last year
Dont write off Carlton as Essendon have no player capable of stopping Fevola, Stevens, Scotland so there is always potential for an upset

But as much as I would love to see the Dons lose to Carlton, I would prefer the Bulldogs to issue the last rites to Essendon in rd22, oh how great that would be

Plss off back to your Port and Pies boards...

Your jealousy of Essendon is very evident. WE DONT WANT YOU!

dead****. enjoy september.
:)

why post something like this after our best win of the year?
sure, we may not be premiership contenders in 2004, but if there was one win that should make our crotches gush, it was saturday night. Port are a damn good team, and we played very good football to defeat them! If we play like that against the filth, or the scum, we'll wipe the floor with them.

We could be in for an interesting month - Lucas and Wellman's return provides us with numerous options for both Tarrant and Fevola - how will it effect Richards' spot in the side.. Rioli is only tipped to miss a couple - but Hird will return and Stanton played his best game in his career.. Allan's injury gives Hille (and possibly Laycock) some extended game time.. Can Mercs force his way back into the side?

The win on Saturday placed us in the position where we controll our fate. If we win the games we should, we will make it to September. I just dont understand the negativity - it all shapes up to be an exciting and interesting time for the Essendon football clubl!

Agree with you there, must say the win was a hell of a confidence booster to the side, having beat Port, our bogy team for the last few years. Sheeds expression at the end of the game must say a few things about the win, especially when Port gave Essendon a run for it's money in the last quarter, but the dons stood in the face of adversity and set things right. That took a lot of courage and I must say, the younger players have benefited a hell of a lot on Sat night.

I have a feeling Rioli was already injured anyway and was still selected as a 'burst' player. His skills was sorely missed, there is nothing better than seeing Rioli kick the ball to Lloydy, what a magician! Hille should show some form in the next couple of weeks as he'd want to prove that he is better than what most people think. Mark my words, he'll play a blinder sooner than later.

Granted that Ess should have the confidence and belief to beat Carl, Coll and the Dogs which should be enough to see us over the line for the finals. I don't know how far we can go though once we play in September. The Sydney game will be a tough one but I believe we are probably one of the sides in the comp to trouble Sydney with their game plan as we play a fairly similar game, hard, tough and physical with lots of tackes. Should be interesting, especially with some senior players coming back into the side.

I sometimes wonder about Ted Richards....should he play in the forward line or the back line? He did seem to do a fair job on the players he played on.
